Féile Péil na nÓg:
Féile Péil division 3 took place in Rhebogue on Sunday morning 15 March 2026, in challenging conditions, with very cold temperatures, a strong breeze and bursts of heavy rain making for a difficult playing surface. The pitch was heavy underfoot throughout the day, but all teams battled hard and produced some excellent football despite the weather.
Round 1: Monaleen 1-5 Mungret St. Pauls 1-3
Mungret St. Pauls opened their campaign against Monaleen in a competitive encounter. Both sides worked hard in the difficult conditions, with scores at a premium. Monaleen made good use of their chances to edge ahead, while Mungret St. Pauls stayed in contention throughout, that kept the game tight. However, Monaleen finishing strongly with a goal to take the win on a scoreline of 1-5 to 1-3.
Round 2: Mungret St. Pauls 1-3 Ahane 1-3
The second round saw Mungret St. Pauls take on Ahane in another closely fought match. With the wind and rain continuing to play a role, both teams showed great determination. Each side found the net and added points, but neither could pull clear. The sides finished level at 1-3 apiece after a hard-fought contest.
Before the start of the third round there was a short delay when one of the referees had to leave due to illness, but play resumed once arrangements were made to replace him.
Round 3: Mungret St. Pauls 3-5 St. Patricks 0-3
Mungret St. Pauls produced their strongest performance of the day in the final round against hosts, St. Patricks. Despite the heavy conditions, they moved the ball well and took their chances in front of goal. Three well-taken goals proved decisive and were added to with a number of good points, while the defence worked hard to limit St. Patricks’ scoring opportunities. At the final whistle, Mungret St. Pauls ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 3-5 to 0-3.
Overall, it was a determined showing from Mungret St. Pauls in tough weather conditions, with great effort shown by all the players throughout the morning. Well done to all our players who played so well in testing weather. They finished the day in second place due to scoring difference but with 8 groups in the Division we wait to see if they go through to next Saturdays quarter finals.
