Mungret/St Pauls GAA Club Notes:

Victory Social:
Mungret St. Pauls held their Victory Social in the Woodlands House Hotel on Saturday, 31 January 2026, celebrating an outstanding year that saw the club record seven championship wins across all four codes.
Guests were welcomed with a drinks reception on arrival, kindly sponsored by Colin Kenny and Diageo. Club Chairperson Fintan Hynes acted as MC on the night and set proceedings in motion, with Limerick Football Manager Jimmy Lee presenting the Premier Minor Football medals.
Next to receive their medals were the Junior Ladies Footballers, followed by a presentation of flowers to Ladies Football Chairperson Siobhán Horgan. The Premier U20 Footballers then accepted their medals from Jimmy Lee.
The Senior Ladies Footballers were next to be honoured, after which the Premier U20 Hurlers received their medals from Limerick Chairperson Séamus McNamara. The Camogie section followed, with a presentation of flowers to Camogie Chairperson Mary Larkin before the Junior A Camogie team were awarded their medals.
The final team presentation of the night saw the Senior Footballers receive their medals, once again presented by Jimmy Lee. Prior to this, a special presentation was made to Club Chairperson Fintan Hynes in recognition of his contribution to the club. As the evening drew to a close, the Senior Football management team were presented with tokens of appreciation from the club.
A further moment of recognition came when Gerard McNamara was acknowledged for his 17 years of dedicated service to Limerick Bord na nÓg as he stepped down from his role, with Séamus McNamara making the presentation.
The celebrations continued late into the night, with the dancefloor full as Acoustra provided the entertainment.
A special word of thanks goes to Kieran O’Brien and his team for organising a superb event and the raffle on the night. Thank you to everyone who attended, and congratulations to all the players and management teams who received medals. Thanks to their hard work and commitment, Mungret St. Pauls truly had much to celebrate.

Sam MaGuire:
On Friday, 30 January 2026, the club welcomed the Sam Maguire Cup from Kerry for the evening. There was a great atmosphere in the Community Centre as people arrived to have their photos taken with the cup, with many staying on to watch the All-Ireland Final followed by the Club All-Ireland Final. Music played in the background throughout the night, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable occasion.

Limerick Players:
Limerick Senior Footballers played their second League campaign match against Down in Rathkeale where the result did not go in Limericks favour. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Killian Ryan, Jason Hassett, Jack McCarthy, Ronan McElligott and Oisin Moss who were on the match day panel with Darragh O’Hagan, Jack Mahon and Ciarán Uwatse on the extended panel with Pa Ranahan, Michéal Cahill and Eoin O’Hagan on the management.
Well done to Fintan Fitzgerald and his UL Fitzgibbon Cup team on getting through to the Semi Final after a win over UCC in UL on Wednesday 28 January. Best of Luck to Fintan and his team mates in the Semi Final. An unfortunate loss to the Limerick Hurlers on Sunday when they lost to Waterford. Well done to Fintan who was on the match day panel.
Well to to Kate Couglan who lined out with the County under Footballers against Laois last weekend.
Well done to Cáit Murphy, Molly O Mahony, Aisling O Sullivan and Róisin O Neill who are selected on the county minor football panel for 2026. Also to Cath Murphy in the management.

Ladies Football:
On Saturday last the underage from the Ladies Gaelic Football received their medals for their commitment in 2025.

The Annual Seamus Mc Closkey Memorial Trophy for Club Person of the Year was worthy recipient Terence Ryan. Terence is involved in the club for a number of years now, as a valued committee member and very popular underage coach. His dedication to the Ladies Gaelic Football Club has made a real difference, His contribution goes far beyond match day. His hard work, positive attitude and willingness to give his time have not gone unnoticed. Well done Terence.
