Mungret/St Pauls GAA Club Notes:
Sam McGuire:
On January 30 2026 the club are delighted to have the Sam Maguire cup on loan from Kerry, at the Community Centre from 8pm. The All Ireland Football final will also be played on the TV. All are welcome to attend wearing their county jersey.
Limerick Players:
There results were in Limericks favour on Wednesday 7 January 2026 when Limerick won against Cork in TUS Gaelic Grounds while in the Sigerson Cup UL overcame MTU Cork and in the Fitzgibbon Cup both Mary I and UL won their matches. Mungret St. Pauls are delighted to have Fintan Fitzgerald on the UL panel. The Limerick Footballers played Cork on Sunday 11 January 2026 where they won but it was not enough to go through to the next round. Mungret St. Pauls were well represented on the day with Killian Ryan, Jack McCarthy, Jason Hassett, Ronan McElligott and Oisin Moss on the match day panel with Pa Ranahan, Micheál Cahill and Eoin O’Hagan on the management.
New Kit:
We’re delighted to share that our club, Mungret St. Pauls, has been selected to receive a full adult jersey kit, generously sponsored by Regeneron. This fantastic support not only lifts our team’s spirit but also reflects Regeneron’s strong commitment to supporting local communities.
Thank you, Regeneron, for your continued support and for making a meaningful impact both in the lab and on the field. In the photo is Brian Treacy representing Regeneron and one of Mungret St. Pauls coaches, Noel Kelly.
Medal Presentation:
On Friday, 9th January, Mungairit/Naomh Pól Bord na nÓg hosted the 2025 Juvenile Hurling and Football Awards Evening for teams from U10 upwards. A wide range of shields, cups, league titles and competition successes were celebrated on the night, and it was a pleasure to recognise the outstanding achievements of these young players.
A large crowd attended the event, which was officially opened by Club Chairperson Fintan Hynes. Bord na nÓg Chairperson Breandán Ó hAnnaidh then addressed the gathering, congratulating all players who proudly wore the red and white jersey of Mungret St. Paul’s throughout the year. Players from the Senior Football, Premier U20 and Premier Minor Football panels were also in attendance and kindly made themselves available for photographs with the younger players.
The evening concluded with the presentation of medals to the U14 Division 1 and Division 3 Football teams, followed by a group photograph of all players, bringing a memorable and successful awards night to a close.
