Mungret/St Paul’s GAA Club Notes:

County Players:
Best of Luck to the Minor and U-20 Limerick Hurling panels this year. We are delighted to have players on both panels. On the minor panel we have Conor Crowley and on the U-20 panel we have Fintan Fitzgerald and Mark O’Brien representing Mungret St. Pauls. Well done men, Mungret St. Pauls are very proud of you all.

Ireland Lights Up:
Thank you to all who took part in the Irish Life Every Step Counts challenge on the My Life App. The challenge was to collectively track 4,000km over six weeks, we are delighted to say we far exceeded that distance with over 60 people tracking their kilometres. We hope you continue your walking and challenge yourself each week to improve distance or time. Well done.

College Camogie:
Huge congratulations to #MSPCamogies Ailbhe Larkin and all her UL Wolves teammates as they beat TU Dublin this Sunday in the Ashbourne Cup final! A fantastic display saw out their opponents in the Connaught GAA airdome. Well done all – the Ashbourne returns to Limerick! Final Score: UL Wolves 6-11 TU Dublin 1-12.

Ladies Football:
Well done to Carol Bateman and the Limerick Junior Football team who came away with a draw last weekend, in the National League.

At Minor level Jillian Buckley, Cameryn Moloney and Emma O Rourke put up fine individual displays of football with the Limerick Team. Unfortunately Kerry were the stronger team on the day.

Kerry also proved too strong for Limerick at u16 level. Mungret were well represented with Anna Coughlan, Caoimhe Hennessy, Càit Murphy, Molly O Mahony, Róisín O Neill, Abbey Nealon and Niamh Stackpoole.

On club level the adult team have taken their first training session on the lovely new astro.

Gaelic4Mothers&Others continues every Tuesday evening at 8pm in the Astro area. Bring on your Mam’s, Sister’s, Aunt’s, Wife, Girlfriend etc. It a fun filled hour with like minded ladies. Contact Cath for more details 0876533347.

Club Gym:
Over 60 of the players and members came together over the last week or 2 to upgrade the gym. We are delighted with how it turned out and fantastic to see all 4 adult codes coming together to get the job done. A big thanks to Orona Mid West Lifts for storage and Setanta for the new Equipment and layout advice.

Mayo Footballers:
We were delighted to have the Mayo Senior Footballers come and train on our new Astro pitch on Friday 16 February before they headed onto the Woodlands House Hotel for the night before they played Kerry in the League match. While it was a tight match it went on Kerry’s favour in the final minutes.
