LONG-Serving Limerick senior footballer Sean O’Dea has retired from inter-county game. O’Dea has been part of the Limerick senior panel since 2014.
The Kilteely-Dromkeen clubman has been ever present in the Limerick defence since then. In that period O’Dea has experienced promotions from Division four to Division two under Billy Lee.
The Limerick defender has also experienced relegations during his inter-county career. In the last two seasons Limerick have went from Division two to Division four.
2022 was one of the highlights of the east Limerick footballers inter-county career. Limerick reached the Munster that year where they were defeated by Kerry.
Manager Jimmy Lee confirmed the news to Leader Sport this afternoon. “Sean I think has eleven seasons put down. He’s put in a fair commitment. Sean works in actuary so I mean he has put his career on hold. He’ll play club football now and the future for him is on his own professional career.”
Earlier this year, Sean O’Dea was part of the Munster inter-provincial team along with inter-county teammates Josh Ryan, Danny Neville and James Naughton that played in Croke Park.
