KILDIMO/PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES

STATE EXAMS: On behalf of everyone involved with Kildimo/Pallaskenry GAA, we would like to wish all club members sitting the Junior and Leaving Cert exams the very best of luck!

LIMERICK SENIOR HURLERS: Congratulations to the Limerick senior hurlers who got back on track in the Munster Hurling Championship with a 20-point victory over Waterford in Walsh Park. Clubman Kyle Hayes put in an absolutely superb performance, not only hitting three points from play but putting in a huge shift of work, winning numerous turnovers and making countless tackles. Best of luck to Kyle and all the Limerick team as they welcome neighbours Clare to the Gaelic Grounds next Sunday.

LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: There was disappointment for the Limerick senior footballers as they fell to Cork in the Munster semi-final in Páirc Uí Rinn. Our own Peter Nash and Tony McCarthy were both introduced as half-time substitutes, while John Chawke was replacement goalkeeper as another clubman, Mike Keogh, had been in a Munster Championship match against Cork 19 years later. Best of luck to Peter, Tony and John in the qualifiers over the next couple of weeks.

LIMERICK U-20 FOOTBALLERS: We have two club players on the Limerick U-20 football panel in the shape of Jamie Hickey and James Pomeroy but they were disappointed to be defeated in their first league fixture against Offaly during the week.

MAYOR’S CUP: Huge congratulations must go to the five club players who won the Mayor’s Cup as part of the Limerick City selection, as well as their coach, Peter Nash. A great achievement for Cian Purcell, Ross Allen, Sam Guerin, Joe Fitzgerald and Adam Kellett, another medal for the collection!

U-14 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 3-6 Kilpeacon 3-3. This wasn’t easily won, but our U-14 hurlers have made it five wins from five after a three-point victory over Kilpeacon. A late change of venue to Ballybricken/Bohermore’s pitch didn’t disrupt our young stars, who did the business, notching yet another Championship win and getting one step closer to the knockout stages. Well done to all players and their management.

U-14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 4-11 Galbally 2-4. The U-14s also march on in the football championship as they notched a win against Galbally. This really is a special group of players who are competing against the very best sides in the county and emerging victorious more often than not. Again, congratulations must go to all the players and the management team.

ALL-COUNTY FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 4: Our footballers received a walkover from Cappagh in the All-County Football League; we currently sit on top of the table and are fixed to play Ahane away in Ahane next weekend. Keep an eye on the website and other social media for fixture updates.

CLUB LOTTO: The lotto numbers on 27 May 2019 in De Bucket were 4, 10, 19 and 21. There was no winner of the overall draw, while the winners of the €25 lucky dips were M Roberts, A Cawley, S Chawke and J Kenny.

The jackpot continues to rise, now reaching €16,800 for next week’s draw in the Seven Sisters. Please continue to support the club lotto, which is the most vital source of funds to fund all our teams from U-6 up to adult grade! An annual subscription is just €100 (€50 for 6 months, €25 per quarter or €8.50 per month) and a subscription form can be requested from any lotto seller or committee member.

REGISTRATION: The deadline for registration has now passed; anybody who has not registered or paid, please do so as soon as possible as unregistered players are ineligible to take the field or to train with the club.

CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: Sadly, there was no club winner in the Club Limerick draw for May, which took place at the weekend. However, there is no better way to support both and show our players you’re right behind them all the way. Kildimo Pallaskenry GAA is very fortunate to have a number of players involved with county teams in both hurling and football across a number of grades. Join the CLUB Limerick Draw online or with any club committee member. Support your club and county teams!
