County Premier Junior A Football Championship Round 1 Preview:
Croom is the venue on this Friday 10th July at 7.30pm for the mouth-watering meeting of the 2022 and 2025 County Junior A Football Championship winners Granagh/Ballingarry and Camogue Rovers in the opening round of Group 1 in the 2026 Limerick County Premier Junior A Football Championship in a rematch of the County Football League Division 5 Round 1 tie won, 3-12 to 0-5, by Camogue Rovers over a gallant Granagh/Ballingarry who failed to field a number of key players due to exams, work and other commitments, in wet and windy conditions in Ballingarry last April. The teams that evening read Camogue Rovers: Daniel Clifford, Padraig Mulcahy, Pat O’Neill, Tadgh McCarthy, Mark Cronin, Michael O’Donnell, Thomas O’Donnell, Patrick Finn, Finn Clancy, Patrick Pinch, Colm O’Loughlin, Killian Bennett, Alex Mulcahy, Anthony Neylon, Anthony Pinch.

The 2026 Limerick County Junior A Premier Football Championship is being run on an All County League basis. 12 teams have indicated that they will take part. There are two groups of six with the top team in each group to qualify for the semi final and the second and third teams for the quarter finals and the fifth and sixth plate teams play in relegation semi-final.
Group 1: Camogue Rovers, Granagh/Ballingarry, Croom, Ballybrown, Feenagh/Kilmeedy and Feohanagh/Castlemahon.
Group 2: Mungret/St. Pauls, Kilteely/Dromkeen, Fr. Casey’s, Glin, Monagea and Athea.
Camogue Rovers won all five games in Division 5 of the County Football League to finish top in top points to qualify for a final meeting with second place Monagea who they defeated before suffering their only defeat of the season when going under to Croom by one point, 0-13 to 1-9, in the South Intermediate Football Championship Final.

Granagh/Ballingarry have only played two games to date this season and suffered heavy defeats in both when forced to line out minus key players due to injury, holidays, exams and work commitment.

County Minor C Football Championship Opener Tonight:
Ballingarry is the venue tonight Wednesday 9th July at 7.30pm for the meeting of the home side Granagh/Ballingarry and Caherconlish in the opening round of Group 2 in the Limerick County Minor C Football Championship. The championship is being run on an All County basis in two groups of nine teams have indicated that they will take part.
Group 1: Knockainey, Pallasgreen, Banogue and Killacolla Gaels.
Group 2: Granagh/Ballingarry, Caherconlish, Newcastlewest and Knockaderry.

July County Club Draw:
The next Limerick County GAA club’s draw is on Saturday July 25th with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1000, 5th exclusive prize, 6th to 9th €500, 10th to 13th €300, 14th to 30th €200. Entry to the draw is just €10 per month with the option to join our own quarterly club draw which takes place shortly and County Club draw for €150. St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh Visit on Saturday:
St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh situated on the Navan Road on the northside of Dublin will visit the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club on this Sunday 11th July to play the boys in black and green in an intermediate hurling challenge game in Ballingarry at 5pm.
On the occasion of their visit Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club will make a presentation of an engraved silver platter to the Dublin Club at a social gathering after the game in the clubhouse. Your support for the 5pm throw-in by referee Joe Mulcahy in Ballingarry would be appreciated.

Granagh/Ballingarry made a winning start to defend their County Minor C Hurling Championship title with an impressive 6-19 to 2-7 victory over gallant Southside Gaels Claughaun/St. Patrick’s/Old Christians in difficulty misty conditions in Ballingarry on Wednesday evening. The home side Granagh/Ballingarry laid a firm foundation for victory in the opening half going in at the interval leading by 2-11 to 0-5. In the second half the boys in black and green added on 4-8 to their first half total with a reply of 2-2 for the city side. At the final whistle Granagh/Ballingarry were impressive e 6-19 to 2-7 winners to take the two County Minor C Hurling League Championship points on offer and can now look forward with confidence to the next round against Cappamore on Wednesday 15th August in Cappamore at 7.30pm.

Hearty congratulations to the Limerick senior hurling manager John Kiely, captain Cian Lynch and our own Donal and Darragh O’Grady and the rest of the management team on their thrilling 2-point 1-21 to 1-9 victory over gallant neighbours Clare in front of over 55,000 spectators in sun-drenched Croke Park on Sunday to qualify for their sixth All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final in nine years, a first since 2023 against Galway on Sunday 19th July in Croke Park at 3.30pm in a rematch of the 2018 final won by one point, 3-16 to 2-18 by Limerick. The Clare boys led by two, 1-19 to 0-20, before a late goal and a pointed free by Adam O’Connor to seal a thrilling 2-oint win for the Shannonsiders.

All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final Tickets:
The Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club will receive an allocation of stand and terrace tickets for the Limerick v Galway All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final on Sunday 19th July in Croke Park. We are inviting paid up club members who are interested in going to the final to email the club ticket co-ordinator Adrian Farragher at gmail.com by Thursday 9th July at 5pm if they wish to have their names included in the ticket draw. The following club members will have first option to buy tickets officer of the senior and Bord na nÓg teams management club and county draw promoters, lottery, finance and field committee, first aid officers etc.
The remaining tickets will be drawn between paid up members of the club draw on a date to be confirmed in the clubhouse in Ballingarry. All winners of tickets will be contacted by email regarding collection and payment. Members are asked for patience and understanding in the run to the final as unfair and unrealistic demands will be dismissed. So, as many club members as possible can be accommodated with tickets. Club members are politely asked to source stand and Hill 16 tickets directly themselves online from local Centra or SuperValu outlets or from clubs in other counties as the demand for the club allocation is likely to outweigh supply. We look forward to the co-operation of all to implement the sale of tickets satisfactorily and hopefully there will be a big Granagh/Ballingarry support on the day.

€4,100 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €4,000 jackpot in the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA in the lottery draw held on Saturday July 4th in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry.
The numbers drawn were8, 10, 17 and 26. The lucky dip winners of €20 each went to Cora McCarthy promoter online Tony Regan, Pat Jo O’Connor and John Higgins.
The next draw will be held on Saturday in Condron’s Bar, Ballingarry for a jackpot of €4,200. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters.
