Jim O’Brien Memorial Cup Final in aid of West Cancer Foundation and Milford Care Centre
All roads lead to Bruree GAA Club Grounds this Sunday 10th May at 3pm for the mouthwatering clash of Granagh-Ballingarry and neighbours Bruree in the final of the Jim O’Brien Memorial Cup Hurling Tournament Final and County Division 3 Hurling League Round 7. All proceeds of the Memorial Cup Final will go to Mid Western Cancer Foundation and Milford Care Centre.
The late Jim O’Brien had a life long association with the Bruree GAA Club and Limerick County Hurling teams winning one All Ireland senior hurling medal in 1973, 2 Munster senior hurling medals 1973-1974, National hurling league medal 1971, Munster minor hurling championship in 1963, Railway medal with Munster in 1970 and an All Star award in 1973 and County Junior A hurling and football championship medal with Bruree in a club career that spanned three decades.
Your support for the round 7 League tie/Memorial Cup Final and the West Cancer Foundation and Milford Care Centre would be appreciated at Bruree on Sunday at 3pm to see if it will be the home side Bruree will lift the Jim O’Brien Memorial Cup and take the two County Division 3 hurling league points offer to go joint top of the table on 7 points with Glenroe or if the visitors Granagh-Ballingarry take their second brace of points to join Cappamore and Bruff on 4 points and inscribe their name on the base of the cup for the first time. The game will be refereed by David Burke of Na Piarsaigh and the proceeds will go to Western Centre Foundation and Milford Care Centre. Tipperary book final spot with third win:
Munster U20 Hurling Championship Round 5
Tipperary 4-20 Limerick 2-8
Tipperary recorded their third win in the Munster U20 hurling championship with an impressive 18 point, 4-20 to 2-18 victory over Tipperary at sunny Pairc na nGael on Wednesday evening. This victory sees Tipperary finish level with Cork and Clare on 6 points to qualify for the final on score differential, while Cork and Clare meet in the semi-final today Wednesday 6th May in Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 7.35pm. Waterford finished fourth on 2 points and Limerick pointless at the bottom of the table.

Munster Minor Hurling Championship Round 4
Tipperary 2-13 Limerick 0-15
In miserably wet conditions at Pairc na nGael on Thursday Tipperary recorded their third straight win in the Munster minor hurling championship with a hard fought 3 point, 2-13 to 0-16 victory over gallant Limerick to go top of the table on 4 points, two ahead of holders Cork. Congratulations to our own Danny O’Grady, introduced as a substitute in the final quarter. This defeat sees Limerick join Clare and Waterford on 2 points and now need to defeat holders and neighbours Cork in the final round robin games on this Friday 8th May in Pairc Ui Rinn at 7pm to qualify for the knockout stages. Munster Senior Hurling Championship Round 3
Limerick 2-30 Clare 1-18
Hearty congratulations to the Limerick senior hurlers, manager John Kely, captain Willia O’Donoghue and our own Donal and Darragh O’Grady and the rest of the management team, who got their Munster senior championship campaign back on track after going under to Cork by two points 2-22 to 1-23 last time out, with an impressive 15 point 2-30 to1-18 victory over Clare in ideal conditions at Cusack Park, Ennis on Sunday. This victory sees Limerick go joint second in the table on 2 points with Clare, two behind Cork and Tipperary and Waterford on 1 point each. The Shannonsiders’ next outing is against Waterford on Sunday 17th May in Pairc na nGael at 3pm.
Tailteann Cup Round 1:
The best of luck to manager Jimmy Lee, Newcastle West, and all involved with the Limerick senior footballers who play Wexford in the opening round of the Tailteann Cup on Saturday 9th May in Wexford Park at 6pm. Your support for the Treaty boys would be appreciated.

Munster Senior Hurling Championship Round 4/5 Tickets:
Tickets for Limerick v Waterford on Sunday 17th May at 3pm and Limerick v Tipperary on Sunday 24th at 4pm I round 4/5 of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship in Pairc na nGael are currently on sale onlin3e. Competing county clubs will also receive allocations for these games.
May County Club Draw:
The next Limerick County GAA club’s draw is on Saturday 29th May with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1000, 5th exclusive prize, 6th to 9th €500, 10th to 13th €300, 14th to 30th €200. Entry to the draw is just €10 per month with the option to join our own quarterly club draw which takes place shortly and County Club draw for €150. Granagh/Ballingarry GAA club had approximately 200 members in the second draw on Saturday 25th March but unfortunately we had no winner. Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club draw promoters are taking to the streets of the parish to canvas members to join the club draw, which will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes. 1st prize €1,000 and ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery draw for €150 and the club draw lottery/County Club Draw for €200. If you wish to renew your membership please contact your promoter asap as the first County Club Draw takes place shortly.

Granagh/Ballingarry players’ membership fees for 2026 are fixed at €50 for Bord na nÓg players, €90 maximum for two or more players, students €50, adult players €180 to include membership of club draw can be still renewed online at www.foireann.ie Any player not currently registered who incur any injury will not be covered by GAA insurance and will have to cover all costs, including medical and loss of earnings, so we ask all players who may have yet to register to do so asap at www.foireann.ie

€3,100 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €3,000 jackpot in the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club lottery draw on Saturday 2nd May in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry. The numbers drawn were 6, 8, 16 and 19. The lucky dip winners of €20 each were Trish Houlihan, promoter online; Kathleen Kennedy, Rory Alymer and John Joe Carmody.
The next draw will be held on Saturday 9th May in Condron’s Bar, Ballingarry for a jackpot of €3,100. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters.
