Bruff ease to a winning Start:
Bruff 1-26 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-22
Bruff in the first outing made a winning start to their County Hurling League Division 3 campaign with a comfortable 7-point, 1-26 to 0-22 victory over a very much under-strength Granagh/Ballingarry played in cold dry conditions in Ballingarry on Saturday.
The Granagh/Ballingarry officials had their pitch in top class condition for this second round County Hurling League Division 3 tie played in front of a good crowd with John O’Donnell of Effin in charge.
The opening nine minutes at Ballingarry were close and exciting with white flags traded by Jack Fitzgerald (play) and Luke Flynn (play), Luke Flynn (free) and Owen Meany (play), Jack Cagney (play) and Owen Meany (free) for 0-3 each before a trio of white flags from open play by Patrick Finn on 11 minutes Josh Keating on 13 minutes and Charlie Cronin two minutes later to leave the boys from South Limerick three ahead 0-6 to 0-3 at the end of the first quarter. Then white flags were traded by Darragh Casey (play) on 16 minutes, Josh Keating (play) on 18 minutes, Eoin Horgan (free) on 20 minutes and Owen Meany (play) on 22 minutes to leave three again between the sides. Bruff 0-8, Granagh/Ballingarry 0-5. Michael Russell of Granagh/Ballingarry split the uprights from open play on 23 and 24 minutes. The Bruff boys dominated the next seven minutes with points by Owen Meany (play) on 25 minutes, Paul Browne (play) on 26 minutes, Owen Meany (free) on 27 minutes followed up by a cracking Josh Keating goal on 28 minutes and a trio of white flags from open play courtesy of Paul Browne on 29 minutes, Darragh Butler on 20 minutes and Josh Keating on 31 minutes before white flags were traded from open play by Eoin Horgan on 32 minutes and from open play by Eoin Horgan on 32 minutes and Josh Keating on 33 minutes to send the Bruff boys in at the interval leading by 10 1-15 to 0-8. Michael Russell split the uprights from placed balls in the opening two minutes after the interval cancelled by Owen Meany from a placed ball on 33 minutes and Paul Browne from open play a minute later to leave 10 again between the sides. Bruff 1-17, Granagh/Ballingarry 1-10 on 34 minutes. Then a pair of white flags from placed balls for Granagh/Ballingarry courtesy of Eoin Horgan on 35 minutes and Michael Russell on 36 minutes were cancelled out by Owen Meany from a placed ball on 38 minutes and open play on 39 minutes to leave 10 once more between the sides. Then substitute Rory Coleman on 41 minutes and Darragh Butler on 42 minutes split the uprights from open play for Bruff before points were traded by Eoin Horgan (free) on 43 minutes and Josh Keating (play) on 45 minutes, Michael Russell (free) on 47 minutes and Owen Meany, free, two minutes later to leave 12 between the sides, Bruff 1-23, Granagh/Ballingarry 0-14 on 49 minutes. The Granagh/Ballingarry boys far from being overawed, dominated the next four minutes with four unanswered white flags through Michael Russell from placed balls on 50 and 52 minutes, David Condron and Michael Russell, open play on 53 and 54 minutes before white flags were traded by Owen Meany (free) on 55 minutes, Michael Russell (play) on 56 minutes, Tom Horgan (play) on 57 minutes, Owen Meany (free) on 58 minutes, Michael Russell (play) on 59 minutes and Owen Meany (free) a minute later to leave nine between the sides, Bruff 1-26, Granagh/Ballingarry 0-20, on 60 minutes.
Second half substitute Darragh O’Donoghue on 61 minutes and David Condron on 63 minutes raised white flags from open play for Granagh/Ballingarry which was too little too late for the home side. At the final whistle Bruff were worthy winners of the two Division 3 County Hurling League points on offer by seven points, 1-26 to 0-223. The Bruff boys can now look forward with confidence to the next round against Murroe/Boher in a rematch of last year’s County Intermediate Hurling Championship Final won by Murroe/Boher on this Thursday 2nd April in Boher at 6.30pm, white the Granagh/Ballingarry boys will have to regroup ahead of their clash also with Murroe/Boher on Saturday 18th April in Boher at 7pm. Bruff scored 1-17 from play and 0-9 from frees, Granagh/Ballingarry scored 0-12 from play and 0-10 from frees.

Fraher’s late goal earns Pallasgreen a share of the spoils:

In difficult underfoot and windy conditions at Ballingarry on Sunday a cracking goal by second half substitute Garry Fraher on 59 minutes paved the way for a hard-fought 3-11 to 2-14 draw for Pallasgreen in Round 2 of Division 8 in the County Hurling League to go top of the table on three points, one ahead of Staker Wallace after their 2-11 to 1-10 victory over Doon in the opening round and Granagh/Ballingarry third on one point with a game in hand against Croagh/Kilfinny.
Kieran Guina of Feohanagh/Castlemahon took charge of this West v East Division 8 Round 2 County Hurling League tie played in front of a good crowd despite the wet weather.
A couple of wides were exchanged in the opening four minutes before white flags were traded from 65s by Darragh O’Donoghue on five minutes and Zach Murphy Ryan on eight minutes and from open play by David Condron on 10 minutes and David Murphy nine minutes later for 0-2 each on 11 minutes.
The home side Granagh/Ballingarry with the wind at their backs, dominated the next six minutes with five unanswered white flags through Dave Condron (play) on 12 minutes, Darragh O’Donoghue (free) on 13 minutes and open play and 14 minutes, Pat Carroll and Jack Hartnet from open play on 15 and 17 minutes, to leave the boys in black and green five ahead 0-7 to 0-2. Then David Murphy finally ended nine minutes without a Pallasgreen score when he split the uprights for the second time from open play on 20 minutes to reduce the deficit to our Granagh/Ballingarry 0-7, Pallasgreen 0-3 10 minutes from the interval. The next five numbers were all Granagh/Ballingarry with a third white flag from open play by former dual county minor player David Condron on 21 minutes, a second pointed 65 by Darragh O’Donoghue who followed up with a smacking goal on 24 minutes and split the uprights from a placed ball a minute later to leave the boys in black and green ten ahead 1-10 to 0-3 on 25 minutes. The Pallasgreen boys, far from being overawed, had a pair of white flags by their No 14 Conor Linnane from open play on 27 minutes and a placed ball on 30 minutes to reduce the deficit to eight, Granagh/Ballingarry 1-10, Pallasgreen 0-3, at the interval. The Pallasgreen boys with the wind at their backs in the opening minutes after the interval with a will taken point from open play by Shane Pearse on 33 minutes followed by a cracking Conor Linnane goal on 36 minutes and he followed this up four minutes later with a point from a placed ball to reduce the deficit to three, Granagh/Ballingarry 1-10, Pallasgreen 1-7 on 50 minutes. Then David Condron finally opened the Granagh/Ballinarry boys’ second half account when he finished past the Pallaskenry keeper David McMahon on 42 minutes and Darragh O’Donoghue from a placed ball on 44 minutes and David Condron from open play a minute later followed up with white flags to extend the boys in black and green’s advantage to seven at the end of the third quarter. Then Pallasgreen landed a pair of white flags through Aaron Green from a placed ball on 47 minutes and Shane Pearse on 50 minutes before white flags were traded by Darragh O’Donoghue from a placed ball on 53 minutes and Zach Murphy Ryan a minute later to leave six between the sides, Granagh/Ballingarry 2-13, Pallasgreen 1-13 on 54 minutes. Then Pallasgreen’s No. 14 Conor Linnane raised his second green flag on 55 minutes and David Murphy split the uprights from open play a minute later to reduce the deficit to three, Granagh/Ballingarry 2-13, Pallasgreen 2-11 on 56 minutes. Paddy O’Keefe extended the home side’s advantage to three when he split the uprights from open play on 59 minutes to level the score which they failed to convert at the final whistle to see the sides finished level, Granagh/Ballingarry 2-14, Pallasgreen 3-11 after a most enjoyable hard fought contest played in heavy underfoot conditions. This result sees Pallasgreen go top of the able on three points, one ahead of Staker Wallace, after their opening round 2-11 to 1-10 victory over Doon and Granagh/Ballingarry third on one point with a game in hand against Croagh/Kilfinny played on Tuesday 31st March. The 13th GAA National club draw took place in Croke Park on Wednesday 25th March. Easter Camp:
For the first time ever Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club will host an Easter Camp for our underage teams 6 to 13 year olds in Ballingarry from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 10th April 10am to 1pm. The camp will be run by a great mix of our adult members and some of our older underage players – a brilliant opportunity for the younger children to learn from them and have lots of fun along the way. The cost is €50 for the first child, €30 for any subsequent children (same family). Registration online. Payment will be taken on the first day of the camp. U21 Hurling and Football Amalgamation 2026:
Due to insufficient players available in Granagh-Ballingarry for U21 hurling and football in 2026, we have been granted permission by the County Board CCC to amalgamate with Rathkeale for U1 hurling under Granagh-Ballingarry-Rathkeale, and Banogue for U1 football under Granagh-Ballingarry-Banogue. Thank you to both Rathkeale and Banogue and the County Board CCC for their help and co-operation in the formation of both amalgamations.
Ticketing Details for Munster Senior Hurling Championship:
Tickets for the first three rounds of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship will be sold exclusively through County Boards. This approach reflects the fact that four of the first six games are being hosted in smaller capacity venues while two games involve Cork, Limerick and Tipperary with the first round game between Tipperary and Cork being a repeat of last year’s All Ireland Final.
Any unused or returned tickets from County Boards will be released for public sale on the Wednesday prior to each game.

Round 4/5 tickets will go on general public sale on Wednesday 8th April.
Competing counties will also receive allocations for these games, ensuring strong county representation at all fixtures.
Season Ticket holders for the respective counties will be allocated tickets by the season ticket team. Queries regarding these tickets should be directed to seasonticketatgaa.ie A limited number of juvenile group tickets will be available for all matches apart for games at Cusack Park, Ennis and Walsh Park, Waterford. Limerick bid for 14th National Hurling League title on Sunday:

Since Cork defeated Dublin in the first final in 1926 by 3-7 to 1-5, Sunday’s 100 National Hurling League Final will be the fifth Cork v Limerick decider all won by Cork – 1970 Cork 2-17, Limerick 0-7; 1972 Cork 3-14, Limerick 2-14; 1974 Cork 6-15, Limerick 1-12; 1980 Cork 2-10, Limerick 2-10, replay Cork 4-15, Limerick 4-6.
The National Hurling League Division 1A title has been won by 10 different teams, 9 of whom have won the title more than once. Granagh-Ballingarry received a total of 28 stand and 49 terrace tickets for Sunday’s National Hurling League Division 1A Final, Limerick v Cork in Pairc na nGael at 4pm. Thank you to all club members for their co-operation to implement the sale of tickets as the demand for our club allocation of stand tickets outweighs supply. Hopefully there will be a big Granagh-Ballingarry support on the day.

Hearty congratulations to Coláiste Chiarain, Croom and especially our own Cian Hanley, Andrew McCarthy and Conor Kelly who were crowned Munster U15 Corn Sheain Stac hurling champions defeating gallant Desmond College at the final at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Wednesday.

€14,800 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €14,700 jackpot in the Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club lottery draw on Saturday 28th March in the Rock Bar, Granagh. The numbers drawn were 1, 14, 18 and 20. The lucky dip winners of €20 each went Mike Cahill, promoter online; Pat Hynes, promoter The Rock Bar, Granagh; Eoin Chawke, promoter John Carroll; Mark Noonan, promoter Adrian Farragher.
