Granagh-Ballingarry ease to a winning start County Hurling League Division 3 Round 1
Granagh-Ballingarry 6-14 Feohanagh-Castlemahon 1-18
Granagh-Ballingarry made a winning start to their County Hurling League Division 3 campaign with a comfortable 11 point, 6-14 to 1-18 victory over gallant Feohanagh-Castlemahon played in cold, dry conditions in Quaid Park, Coolyroe on Sunday.
The Feohanagh-Castlemahon officials must be complimented for having the pitch in top class condition for this opening County Hurling League Division 3 tie of the season played in front of a big crowd with Alan Kehoe of Askeaton-Ballysteen-Kilcornan in charge. The opening 14 minutes at Quaid Park, Coolyroe were close and exciting with white flags traded by Seamus Flanagan, play and Luke Flynn, play, Johnny Field, play and Michael Russell play, Gavin Fitzgibbon play and Michael Russell play, Seamus Flanagan free and Darragh Casey play, John McEnery play and Michael Russell play for 0-5 each before Eoin Lynch following good work by Michael Russell finished past Feohanagh-Castlemahon keeper Gearoid Sexton to leave three between the sides, Granagh-Ballingarry 1-5, Feohanagh-Castlemahon 0-5 at the end of the first quarter. Former dual county minor player David Condron raised the Granagh-Ballingarry boys’ second green flag on 17 minutes before white flags were traded from open play, Luke Flynn on 19 minutes and Gavin Fitzgibbon a minute later to leave six between the sides, Granagh-Ballingarry 2-6, Feohanagh-Castlemahon 0-6 on 20 minutes. Michael Russell raised the boys in black and green third green flag on 22 minutes before white flags were traded from open play, Michael Russell on 24 and Fionn Meehan on 25 minutes and from placed ball by Luke Flynn on 26 minutes and Gavin Fitzgibbon and a minute later to leave nine between the sides Granagh-Ballingarry 3-8, Feohanagh-Castlemahon 9-8 on 27 minutes. The Feohanagh-Castlemahon boys far from being overawed dominated the final 3 minutes of the opening half with a pair of white flags from open play by five time All Ireland senior hurling medal winner with Limerick Seamus Flanagan to reduce the deficit to five Granagh-Ballingarry 3-8, Feohanagh-Castlemahon 0-12 at the interval. Eoin Horgan from a long range placed ball out, Luke Flynn from open play raised white flags from Granagh-Ballingarry in the opening four minutes after the interval before green flags were traded by Johnny Field on 35 minutes and Eoin Lynch a minute later to leave 7 between the sides, Granagh-Ballingarry 4-10, Feohanagh-Castlemahon 1-12 on 36 minutes. After 5 minutes of scoreless play white flags were traded by Gavin Fitzgerald free on 42 minutes and Luke Flynn free on 44 minutes, Michael Russell play on 46 minutes and Gavin Fitzgibbon free two minutes later to leave 7 between the sides, Granagh-Ballingarry 4-12, Feohanagh-Castlemahon 1-14 on 48 minutes. Jack Condon on 50 minutes and substitute John Roche on 52 minutes won points back from play for the Feohanagh-Castlemahon boys before Luke Flynn raised the Granagh-Ballingarry boys’ 5th green flag a minute later to leave it 5-12 to 1-16 in favour of the boys in black and green on 54 minutes. White flags were traded by Gavin Fitzgerald from a placed ball on 55 minutes and Jack Cagney from open play on 56 minutes, Gavin Fitzgerald on 58 minutes and Paudie Murphy on 59 minutes before a long delivery by Granagh-Ballingarry No. 5 Eoin Horgan went all the way past Feohanagh-Castlemahon keeper Gearoid Sexton in added time to leave Granagh-Ballingarry comfortable 11 point 6-14 to 1-18 winners of the two County hurling league division 3 points on offer. The Granagh-Ballingarry boys can now look forward to the next round with confidence where they will face a stiff task against Bruff on Saturday 28th March in Ballingarry at 5pm.

Tipperary 3-13 Limerick 2-9
Tipperary recorded their first win in Phase 1 of the Munster U20 Football Championship with a deserved 7 point 3-13 to 2-9 victory over gallant Limerick at New Inn in Tipperary on Saturday. This second straight defeat for the Shannonsiders means the end of their involvement in the business end of the competition, despite having to play Clare in their final phase 1 stage game on Friday 3rd April in Mountcollins at 7pm. National Hurling League Division 1A Round 7

Hearty congratulations to the Limerick senior hurling manager John Kiely, our own Donal and Darragh O’Grady and the rest of the management team on their hard fought 2 point, 2-27 to 0-31 victory over gallant Galway to finish joint top of the Division 1A League table on 10 points with holders and neighbours Cork who will clash in the National Hurling League Division 1A Final on Sunday 5th April in Pairc na nGael at 4pm.
Limerick relegated despite dramatic one point win

Limerick 2-15 Fermanagh 0-20
Congratulations to manager Jimmy Lee and all involved with the Limerick senior footballers on their dramatic one point, 2-15 to 0-20 win over Fermanagh at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Sunday in the final round of Division 3 in the National Football League. Unfortunately for the Shannonsiders Sligo’s equally one point win over Clare at Markievicz Park meant that Limerick finish 7th on 5 points, one behind Sligo and Clare on 6 and relegated along with Fermanagh to Division 4 for 2027. Limerick’s next outing is against neighbours Cork in the quarter final of the Munster Senior Football Championship on Sunday 12th April in Pairc Ui Chaoimh at 2pm.
Munster Minor Football Championship Phase 1 Round 1
The best of luck to the Limerick minor footballers who play Tipperary on Sunday 29th March in Clonmel sportsfield at 2pm.
All County Hurling League Division 8 Round 1 and 2:
A busy few days of action lies ahead for Granagh-Ballingarry Junior B hurlers in Division 8 of the County League. On this Sunday 29th March they play Pallaskenry in Ballingarry at 3pm and two days later on Tuesday 31st Marchthey travel to Croagh to play the home side Croagh-Kilfinny at 6.30pm. Two exciting games are in prospect so come and support the boys in black and green and the management team of Niall Carroll, Benjie Kelly, Shane Mulqueen, Maurice Noonan and Andrew Holmes.
Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake:
Granagh-Ballingarry nominated dog Magical Jet failed to finish in the top three of heat 4 in round 1 of the Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake at Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night, so unfortunately was not included in the round 2 draw for the Saturday night.
First Club Limerick Draw on Saturday:
The first Limerick County GAA Club Draw for 2026 is on this Saturday 28th March.
There will be monthly draws from March to December with a top prize of €10,000. There is a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1,000, 5th Executive Star Prize, 6th to 9th €500, 10th to 13th €300, 14th to 30th €200. Our club had approximately 198 members in the 2025 draw and six winners, Club Chairperson Andrew Holmes and Noreen Hennessy won €200 in the first draw in March, Mary Horgan €200 in July, Richard Chawke €200 in August, David O’Hanlon €10,000 and Paudie O’Sullivan €2,000 in November.

National Club Draw Today:
The National GAA Club Draw 2026 takes place today Wednesday 25th March in Croke Park. Thank you to all who supported this draw and club co-ordinators Niall Carroll and David Condron and all the promoters.
Draw promoters hit the streets:
Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club draw promoters are taking to the streets of the parish to canvas members to join the club draw, which will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes. 1st prize €1,000 and ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery draw for €150 and the club draw lottery/County Club Draw for 2026. If you wish to renew your membership please contact your promoter asap as the first County Club Draw takes place this Saturday 28th March.
Club Membership 2026:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club membership fees for 2026 are fixed at €100 to include membership of the club draw. Bord na nÓg players €50 (€90 maximum for two or more players), students €50, adult players €180 to include membership of club draw. Players to register online to pay fees through Foireann@gaa.ie as per official guide before training and the playing season commence. Note All membership fees to be paid on or before Tuesday 31st March.
Ticketing Details for Munster Senior Hurling Championship:
Tickets for the first three rounds of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship will be sold exclusively through County Boards. This approach reflects the fact that four of the first six games are being hosted in smaller capacity venues while two games involve Cork, Limerick and Tipperary with the first round game between Tipperary and Cork being a repeat of last year’s All Ireland Final.
Any unused or returned tickets from County Boards will be released for public sale on the Wednesday prior to each game.
Rounds 4/5
Round 4/5 tickets will go on general public sale on Wednesday 8th April.
Competing counties will also receive allocations for these games, ensuring strong county representation at all fixtures.
Season Ticket holders for the respective counties will be allocated tickets by the season ticket team. Queries regarding these tickets should be directed to seasonticketatgaa.ie A limited number of juvenile group tickets will be available for all matches apart for games at Cusack Park, Ennis and Walsh Park, Waterford. Clubs can apply for juvenile group tickets via www.munster.gaa.ie/tickets from Wednesday 8th April with a maximum of 40 tickets per club (to include 6 adults max) one application per club will be accepted.

Limerick GAA Season Tickets:

Easter Camp:
For the first time ever Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club will host an Easter Camp for our underage teams 6 to 13 year olds in Ballingarry from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 10th April 10am to 1pm. The camp will be run by a great mix of our adult members and some of our older underage players – a brilliant opportunity for the younger children to learn from them and have lots of fun along the way. The cost is €50 for the first child, €30 for any subsequent children (same family). Registration online. Payment will be taken on the first day of the camp. €14,700 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €14,600 jackpot in the Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club lottery draw on Sunday 22nd March in Condron’s Bar, Ballingarry. The numbers drawn were 5, 11, 12 and 20. The lucky dip winners of €20 each went to Iona Hartnett, promoter online; Pat and Joanne, promoter Paddy Hennessy; Darragh O’Grady, promoter Darragh O’Grady; Niamh O’Keeffe, promoter Laura O’Keeffe.
