
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club Notes:
€14,100 Jackpot on Saturday:
There has been no winner of the jackpot in the Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club weekly lottery since Ross and James Tierney, Ahalin, Ballingarry, promoter O’Grady’s Spar Shop, Ballingarry won €3,000 on Saturday 12th August 2023 in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry.
The numbers draw on Saturday 14th February in the Rock Bar, Granagh were 1, 8, 14 and 21. The €14,000 jackpot was not won. Lucky dips of €20 each went to Gearoid Hannon, promoter online; Seamus Twomey, Jamie Twomey and Seamus Murphy (promoter The Rock Bar, Granagh). The next draw will be held on Saturday 21st February in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry for a jackpot of €14,100. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters. You can also buy the weekly draw online, available on the club’s Facebook or Twitter page, which finishes at 6pm every Saturday.
National Hurling and Football League Tickets:
All Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club members please take note that tickets for all Limerick Hurling League Division 1A and National Football League Division 3 are only available online through Ticketmaster.
Munster Championship Tickets:
Tickets for the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championship games will go on sale in the first week in April, available via www.goal.ie/tickets.ticketmaster and selected Centra and SuperValu outlets. Note, season ticket holders will be allocated tickets by the season ticket team. Queries regarding these tickets should be directed to seasonticketsatgaa.ie
Limerick GAA Season Tickets:
Limerick County GAA Board launched their 2026 season tickets recently. The tickets will entitle the bearer entry to all Limerick County Board Club games in 2026 for €150. It would make an ideal present for a family member or friend and can be purchased online at limerickgaa.ie Tel (061) 335576.

Medal Presentation Awards Function:
All roads lead to Granagh Community Centre on Friday night 27th February at 8pm for a night of nostalgia, celebration and craic at the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club medal presentation awards function. Players and supporters will be celebrating their achievements of the past year as well as looking forward to the 2026 season. We will honour the many acclaimed and outstanding successes of our minor hurlers winning the inaugural County Minor C Hurling Championship defeating neighbours Knockaderry 1-15 to 2-8 in the final at Páirc Caoimhín Ó Luing, Feenagh on Sunday 7th September, the U17 hurlers on winning the County Division 4 League title defeating Cois Laoi Gaels Effin/Staker Wallace in the final at Fedamore on Wednesday 7th May, the U16s on completing a remarkable County U16 Hurling Division and Division 4 Football Division 4 Championship, doubly defeating South Liberties/Crecora/Manister 0-23 to 1-11 in the hurling final at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Saturday 11th October and gallant neighbours Knockaderry 0-9 to 1-5 in the football decider on Saturday 25th October at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale.

County solo singing Scór winners Maurice Noonan in recognition for captaining Munster Hurling/Camogie Club to League and five All-Irelands in-a-row, appointed vice captain of the Irish Wheelchair Para Floorball team and received All-Star Midfielder and Hurler of the Year award 2025, Donal O’Grady in recognition for managing Limerick’s minor hurling team in 2025, Intermediate Hurling Junior B Hurling Premier Junior A Football Player of the Year, Most Dedicated Adult Player of the Year, Club Service and Club Person of the Year award will be announced. Recognition presentations will be made to Adrian Farragher for his outstanding service as club treasurer 2010 to 2025, Niall Fitzgerald treasurer 2024 to 2025, Paul McDonagh coaching officer 2024 to 2025, Cormac McCarthy Bord nan Óg chairperson 2024 to 2025.

Scór:
The Limerick County Senior Scór Finals are on Friday 25th February at a venue to be confirmed at 7pm. The question time final team of four will be held at Mungret St. Paul’s GAA Clubhouse on Thursday 26th February at 8pm. Anybody interested in taking part and representing Granagh/Ballingarry please contact club Irish Cultural Officer Christina O’Connell a.s.a.p. at (087) 1630784 before Thursday 19th February. There are eight event disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture. Figure dancing, solo singing, recitation, ballad group, drama, instrumental music and set dancing. In 2025 Johnny O’Riordan (RIP) of Granagh/Ballingarry who first competed in Scór back in 1974, won his first ever Limerick County Senior Scór model when he teamed up with Christina O’Connell to win the instrumental music competition.
Club Membership 2025:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club membership fees for 2026 are fixed at €100 to include membership of the club draw. Bord na nÓg players €40 (€90 maximum for two or more players), no family membership. Players to register online to pay fees through Foireann at gaa.ie as per official guide before training and playing season commence. Note All membership fees to be paid on or before Tuesday 31st March.
2026 County GAA Club Draw:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club are once more promoting the Limerick County Club Draw. There will be monthly draws from March to December with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1,000, 5th Executive Star Prize, 6th to 9th €500, 10th to 13th €300, 14th to 30th €200. Our club had approximately 198 members in the 2025 draw and six winers, Club Chairperson Andrew Holmes and Noreen Hennessy won €200 in the first draw in March, Mary Horgan €200 in July, Richard Chawke €200 in August, David O’Hanlon €10,000 and Paudie O’Sullivan €2,000 in November. The launch of the Club Limerick Draw brochure takes place on Monday 23rd February in the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare at 8pm. All club promoters are invited to attend.
2026 Club Draw Lottery:
The Granagh Ballingarry 2026 Club draw will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes: 1st €1,000 with ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery draw for €150 and the club draw lottery/county club draw for €200. If you wish to renew your membership please contact our promoter on or before 19th March as the first County Club Draw will take place on Saturday 28th March.
National Club Draw 2026 Support:
The 2026 GAA National Club draw will take place on Wednesday 25th March in Croke Park, offering clubs a major risk free fundraising opportunity. Each club can sell up to 2,000 tickets at €15 keeping 100% of all proceeds with all prizes and production costs covered by Croke Park. A club selling 200+ will also be entered into a bonus draw for €1,000. Physical tickets are available on request to nationalclubdraw@gaa.ie while online sales can be managed through Foireann using the guidance link provided. Supporters will be in with a chance to win fantastic prizes, including a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, All Ireland final weekend packages, a €2,500 holiday voucher and more. Clubs meeting the participation criteria (selling 200+ tickets, uploading all sales to Foireann and complying with draw terms) will also enter exclusiuve club draws for €5,000, €1,000 per County and €1,000 for the highest selling club in each province. Key dates include 27th February (last ticket request), 9th March (Club declarations and ticket returns), 20th March (County liaison officer verification) and 25th March (draw day). Foireann continues to make selling tickets easier than ever. Clubs can sell NCD tickets online to signed-in users and now for 2026 can now create payment links that allow members, supporters and friends to purchase tickets to support their club via quick guest check-out with no need to log into Foireann. This makes it easier to share tickets more widely and maximise participation and sales. Croke Park are aware of unauthorised third party platforms promoting themselves as options for selling NCD tickets online. Please disregard these approaches and only use the approved system for all online sales. Integration Submissions:
The steering group on integration in Croke Park are holding an Integration Roadshow for Munster counties on Tuesday 10th March in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork from 7pm to 9pm. Registration will open in early February and will be on a first come first served basis (due to venue restrictions). Please note the sessions will be live streamed so if you are unable to attend the option to join remotely will be available to you. On the night the steering group will be presenting various proposals surrounding one membership-one club-one county-one province-one association (the new GAA). The steering group will be in touch with the club again to advise when registrations will open. Well done to manager Jimmy Lee, Newcastle West and all involved with the Limerick Senior footballers who recorded their first win in Division 3 of the National Football League with a thrilling one point 1-15 to 1-14 victory over gallant Wexford, courtesy of a late goal by second half substitute Peter Nash in difficult wet and windy conditions at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Sunday to go joint fourth on the table on 3 points with Laois behind Down on 6, Wexford and Westmeath on 4. Limerick’s next outing is against Sligo, joint 5th on 2 points with Clare on this Sunday 22nd February in Tubbercurry at 2pm.
Limerick Aim for Back-To-Back Wins on Saturday:
We wish the best of luck to manager John Kiely, captain Cian Lynch, our own Donal and Darragh O’Grady and the rest of management as Limerick Senior hurlers aim for back-to-back wins in Round 4 of Division 1A in the National Hurling League, when they travel to Semple Stadium, Thurles on this Saturday 21st February to play All Ireland champions Tipperary at 5.30pm. Tipperary will enter Saturday’s game joint second on the table on 4 points with Waterford two behind holders Cork, while Limerick and Kilkenny are on three points having a game in hand and Galway and Offaly are pointless. Your support for the boys in green and white on Saturday in Semple Stadium, Thurles for the 5.30pm throw-in would be appreciated.

Voluntary Stewards Training:
Limerick County GAA Board are holding a course for voluntary stewards on Thursday 26th February in the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare at 6.30pm to assist with games in the Gaelic Grounds, Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale and various grounds as the need arises. The purpose of this course is to ensure that there will be enough qualified stewards for events at these venues. Indeed, all clubs must have enough stewards for hosting games.
Conditions: Over 28 years of age (male or female). Available for a steward roster at weekends (average of 10-20 weeks annually). Fit and active, friendly, courteous, enthusiastic. Stewards will be trained and accredited by the GAA National Health and Safety Committee and the course is monitored by the Europlan Group will be present. The course will commence with refreshments at 6.30pm and certification will only be awarded upon completion of the full course.
