Healthy Club Phase 7 Offer:
Granagh/Ballingarry has been selected to participate in Phase 7 of the Irish Life GAA Healthy Club Programme.
Phase 7 Timelines
Healthy Club officer training will be delivered online on Tuesday February 24th via Microsoft teams from 7.30 to 9pm. This online training will help the club to get started, understand what the programme is all about and allow for any questions before the orientation day in Croke Park on Saturday 7th March. The Healthy Club National Orientation Day:
One or two representatives from Granagh/Ballingarry must attend the National Healthy Club Orientation Day. It is a requirement that all selected clubs attend as training, welcome packs and resources essential to enable clubs’ participation in the programme, will be provided at the event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. If our club is not represented the place will be allocated to one of the clubs on the shortlist.

Medal Presentation Awards Function:
All roads lead to Granagh Community Centre on Friday night 27th February at 8pm for a night of nostalgia, celebration and craic at the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club medal presentation awards function. Players and supporters will be celebrating their achievements of the past year as well as looking forward to the 2026 season. We will honour the many acclaimed and outstanding successes of our minor hurlers winning the inaugural County Minor C Hurling Championship defeating neighbours Knockaderry 1-15 to 2-8 in the final at Páirc Caoimhe Luing, Feenagh on Sunday 7th September, the U17 hurlers on winning the County Division 4 League title defeating Coislaoi Gaels (Effin/Staker Wallace) in the final at Fedamore on Wednesday 7th May, the U11s on completing a remarkable County U16 Hurling Division 3 Hurling and Division 4 Football Division 4 Championship double defeating South Liberties/Crecora/Manister 0-23 to 1-11 in the hurling final at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Saturday 11th October and gallant neighbours Knockaderry 0-9 to 1-5 in the football decider on Saturday 25th October at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale. The following 36 players will be part of the medal presentations which will be performed by a special guest of honour to be confirmed (County Minor C Hurling Championship captain Jack Mulqueen, County Division 4 U17 Hurling League captain, Darragh O’Donoghue, County U16 Division 3 Hurling Championship captain, Danny O’Grady (County U16 Division 4 Football Championship captain, Will O’Grady, Liam English, Seán Stapleton, Killian O’Keeffe, Edward Purtill, Conor O’Shea, Nathan Hartnet, Declan Dunworth, Paddy O’Keeffe, Danny O’Grady, Tom Horgan, Ben Daly, Edward Lynch, Darragh O’Donovan, Paul Griffin, Liam O’Kelly, Charlie Henley, Nigel Noonan, Adam Lyons, Jamie O’Grady, Niall O’Shea, Alex Condron, Ben Houlihan, Gordon Twomey, Michael Curtin, Adam Mulqueen, Conor Sexton, Harry Ahern, Conor Davis, Cian Hanley, Rory Stapleton, Daniel Hartigan, Eoghan Kiely. U16 hurling and football team management Noel Noonan, Pat Carroll and Donal O(‘Grady intermediate hurling, Jim (Twin) Lynch Memorial and the Dunworth Cup winning team management of John O’Connor, Ger Ryan and Mark O’Sullivan, Christine Connell and John O’Riordan (RIP), County Solo Singing Scór winners Maurice Noonan in recognition for captaining Munster Hurling/Camogie Club to league and five All Irelands in-a-row, appointed vice captain of the Irish Wheelchair Para Floorball team and received All-Star Midfielder and Hurler of the Year award 2025, Donal O’Grady in recognition for managing Limerick minor hurling team in the 2025 Intermediate C Hurling Junior and Hurling Junior a Football Player of the Year. The most Dedicated Adult Player of the Year, Club Service and Club Person of the Year award will be announced. Recognition presentations will be made to Adrian Farragher for his outstanding service as (club treasurer 2029 – 2025), Niall Fitzgerald treasurer 2024 to 2025, Paul McDonagh, Coaching Officer 2024-2025, Cormac McCarthy Bord nan Óg chairperson 2024-2025. Your support for this medal presentation and awards went on Friday 27th January in the Granagh Community Centre would be greatly appreciated. Finer good and light refreshments will be served on the night.
Bord na nÓg Registration/Awards Night:
Granagh/Ballingarry Bord na nÓg Registration/Awards night is on Sunday 1st March in Ballingarry Community Hall at 6pm. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Club Membership 2025:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club membership fees for 2026 are fixed at €100 to include membership of the club draw. Bord na nÓg players €40 (€90 maximum for two or more players), no family membership. Players to register online to pay fees through Foireann at gaa.ie as per official guide before training and playing season commence. Note All membership fees to be paid on or before Tuesday 31st March.
2026 National Club Draw:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club are promoting the 2026 national club draw. There is no financial cost to the club to get involved as all costs of tickets and prizes are covered by the Central Council. In addition to maintaining the proceeds for all tickets sold by the club, any club who sells a minimum of 200 tickets automatically gets into a draw for €1,000, a prize won by Granagh/Ballingarry in March 2024. Prizes include: 1st Toyota Corolla Hybrid, 2nd €20,000, 3rd €10,000, 4th €5,000, 5th €5,000, 6th €2,500 holiday voucher, 7th and 8th prize All Ireland and Football Final package, 9th All Ireland Football Final package 2026 10th All Ireland Hurling Final package 2026.
Club Specific Draw:
A draw will take place whereby three clubs receive €5,000. Another draw will take place whereby one club in each county will receive €1000. The club with the highest ticket sales in each province will receive €1,000. To qualify for these draws a club must sell a minimum of 200 tickets, record all sold on the online ticketing system account for all funds raised through the draw separately on the club account, adhere to all terms and conditions of the draw which was outlined on the back of the tickets. The draw will take place on Wednesday 25th March in Croke Park and tickets are currently on sale online in local shops/bars and from promoters. Integration Submissions:
The steering group on integration in Croke Park are holding an Integration Roadshow for Munster counties on Tuesday 10th March in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork from 7pm to 9pm. Registration will open in early February and will be on a first come first served basis (due to venue restrictions). Please note the sessions will be live streamed so if you are unable to attend the option to join remotely will be available to you. On the night the steering group will be presenting various proposals surrounding one membership-one club-one county-one province-one association (the new GAA). The steering group will be in touch with the club again to advise when registrations will open. Scór:
The Limerick County Senior Scór Finals are on Friday 27th March at a venue to be confirmed at 7pm.
The question time final team of 4 will be held at Mungret St. Paul’s GAA Clubhouse on Thursday 26th February at 8pm. Anybody interested in taking part and representing Granagh-Ballingarry please contact club Irish Cultural Officer Christina O’Connell asap at 087-1630784 before Thursday 19th February. There are eight event disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture, Figure dancing, Solo singing, Recitation, Ballad Group, Drama, Instrumental music and Set dancing. In 2025 Johnny O’Riordan RIP of Granagh-Ballingarry who first competed in Scór back in 1974 won his first ever Limerick County Senior Scór medal, when he teamed up with Christine O’Connell to win the Instrumental music competition.

National Hurling and Football League Tickets:
All Granagh/Ballingarry GAA club members please take note that tickets for all Limerick hurling League Division 1A and National Football League Division are only available online through Ticketmaster.
Munster Championship Tickets:
Tickets for the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championship games will go on sale in the first week in April available via www.gaa/ie/tickets.ticketmaster and selected Centra and SuperValu outlets. Note season ticket holders will be allocated tickets by the season ticket team. Queries regarding these tickets should be directed to seasontickets@gaa.ie
Limerick GAA Season Tickets:
Limerick County GAA Board launched their 2026 season tickets recently. The tickets will entitle the bearer entry to all Limerick County Board club games in 2026 for €150. It would make an ideal present for a family member or friend and can be purchased online at limerickgaa.ie Tel 061-335576.
2026 Club Draw Lottery:
The Granagh-Ballingarry 2026 Club draw will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes: 1st €1,000 with ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery draw for €150 and the club draw lottery/county club draw for €200. If you wish to renew your membership please contact our promoter on or before 19th March as the first County Club Draw will take place on Saturday 28th March.
2026 County GAA Club Draw:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club are once more promoting the Limerick County Club draw. There will be monthly draws from March to December with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1,000, 5th executive star prize, 6th to 9th €5000, 10th to 13th €300, 14th to 30th €200. Our club had approximately 198 members in the 2025 draw and six winners club chairperson Andrew Holmes and Noreen Hennessy won €200 in the first draw in March, Mary Horgan €200 in July, Richard Chawke €200 in August, David O’Hanlon €10,000 and Paudie O’Sullivan €2,000 in November. Second win for Down with one point win over Limerick:
National Football League Division 3 Round 2
Down 0-18 Limerick 1-14
Down made it back to back wins in Division 3 of the National Football League with a one point 0-18 to 1-14 victory over unlucky Limerick in front of a good crowd at Mick Neville Park Rathkeale on Saturday afternoon. This result see the Down boys go joint top of the table on four points with Wexford and Westmeath while Limerick are joint fifth, one point with Laois. The Limerick boys’ next league outing is against Wexford, joint table toppers, and four points with Down and Westmeath on Sunday 15th February in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale at 2pm.

Waterford 1-21 Limerick 0-20
Limerick had a disappointing start to their National Hurling League Division 1A campaign going under to Waterford by 4 points 1-21 at Walsh Park, Waterford on Sunday. This result see the Waterford boys go joint third on the table on two points with Kilkenny, two behind Tipperary and Cork. The Limerick boys will have to regroup for their next outing against 6-in-a-row Leinster Championship champions Kilkenny on Saturday 8th February at 3.45pm in Pairc na nGael, where a win is a must for the Shannonsiders to stay in contention for a semi-final spot. Transfer:
Edward Sheehy, Granagh-Ballingarry transfers to Bondi Gaels in Sydney Australia. We wish Edward the best of luck with his new club in sunny Australia and thank him for his outstanding service to Granagh-Ballingarry GAA Club through the years in both hurling and football as a player, coach and team manager.

€13,900 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €13,900 jackpot in the Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club lottery held on Saturday 31st January in Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry. The numbers drawn were 9, 18, 22 and 29. The lucky dip winners of €20 each went to Bridget Cahill, promoter online, Conor O’Keeffe, promoter Buckley’s Bar, Ballingarry; Donal O’Grady, promoter Donal O’Grady Fanahan and Kathleen Hanrahan, promoter Niall Carroll.
The next draw will be held on Saturday 7th Feburary in the Rock Bar, Granagh for a jackpot of €13,900. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters.
