GALBALLY GAA CLUB NOTES

The Galbally Senior Footballers were beaten by 4-15 to 1-6 by St Kierans in Round 5 of the Limerick Senior Football Championship but survived a relegation playoff by virtue of Na Piarsaigh beating Drom Broadford in the corresponding group game. Ger Quinlan missed the game due to injury and therefore Galbally were disadvantaged in terms of an outlet for ball on the inside line, and in terms of his scoring ability. However, Darragh Treacy missed the game for St Kierans so this would have evened matters out.

Galbally: Ger Ryan, Tom Davern, Tony Henebry, Eoin Halligan, Mark Quinlan (0-1), Liam Casey, Jacko Mullane, James Ryan, Kieran Hickey (1-1), John Kearns, James Cummins (0-3), Jamie Morrissey (0-1), Mike Donovan, Jack Donovan, Gary McCarthy (Capt). Subs: Eoin O’Mahony, Cathal Shanahan, Dave Cussen, Michael Dwyer, Frank Cussen, Jonathan Scully, Nathan O’Byrne, Colin Ryan.

Elsewhere, while the game was going on, Galbally GAA Sponsor Johnny Cummins was in Cashel managing the Cahir footballers to a draw against a star studded Loughmore/Castleiney side as they took another step towards qualification for the Tipperary football quarter finals.

The Latest Split the Pot Winner was Liam Morrissey who was the lucky winner of €402. Next Draw is in the Foxes Den, Knockcarron on Saturday Night 31st August.
