DROMIN/ATHLACCA GAA CLUB NOTES

Fixtures + Results: Last Friday March 6th our U21 hurling team played Belville Gaels in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale. Sadly things didnt go our way on the night. The score was level at half time, the lads battled hard and never gave up. Great perfomances from Shane Rabbitte, Adam Costello and Mark Fitzpatrick along with John Sheehan. The full back line performed well on the night as did Adam Gubbins in goals and Shae Rabbit on frees. The final score with 13 players Belville Gaels 1:20 Dromin Athlacca 1:16. Due to play Kildimo Pallaskenry next Sunday March 15th

The South Championship will be getting underway next week and our own Premier Intermediate team will face Glenroe on Sunday March 22nd in Kilfinane at 4.30pm. This will go to extra time if necessary.

The Junior B Football League that was due to get underway last Saturday against Crecora was called off. Keep an eye on Social Media for rescheduled fixtures.

The Limerick Club Draw as been launched with the first draw due to take place on April 4th. The Exclusice Star Prize for March will see one lucky family of 2 Adults + 2 Children win a trip for the May Bank Holiday Weekend to Center Parc Activity Centre in Longord. There will be 29 other cash prizes per month with a Top Prize of 10,000e er month giving you 300 good reasons to play! Lotto: The 7,000e Jackpot was not won this week. Lucky Dip winners were Pa & Siobhan Murphy 40e, Aine Scanlon 20e and Tom Griffin 20e. Next weeks jackpot will be 7,050e, and the draw will take place in Ryans Corner Bar, Athlacca. Club membership is now open for 2020 at a cost of 30e. Closing date for membership is April 17th. Payment can be made to Ian Kelleher and Ged Moynihan. This will cover insurance costs for players and give priority for All Ireland tictets later in the year.

Limerick GAA in association with Frank Hogan Limerick have “ teamed up” to give one lucky supporter the chance to follow their team in style. All proceeds from this “ Win a New Mercedes CLA 180 Draw” with Limerick GAA will be reinvested in the county hurling and football teams representing Limerick from minor right through to senior level. Garda Vetting: All our coaches who will be involved with players up to the age of 18 years old have to be Garda Vetted. It is an easy process to go through. Garda vetting services are available to any person over 16 years if age who are in a position of responsibility over children. Consent from a parent/guardian shall be required for applicants between the age of 16 & 18 years if age. Queries on garda vetting can be made to Child Welfare officer Mary Herlihy.

Congratulations to Limerick Senior Hurlers who overcame Waterford last Saturday in LIT Gaelic Grounds in very poor conditions. This result sees John Kielys men move directly into the semi finals on the weekend of March 21/22nd and await one of the winners in next weekends quarter finals.
