This game was a hard-fought game played down in Croagh, on last Saturday night.
Dromcollogher/Broadford started well and scored the first two points coming from Keith Lacey latching onto a loose ball and Gerard Noonan from long range to lead by two points and then Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the next three points to lead a point. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Michael Ryan finishing off a well worked move and a Derry McCarthy free to lead by a point and then Croagh/ Kilfinny scored another point to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game. Dromcollogher/Broadford were unfortunate not to add a goal to their tally when Brian Stack crashed a shot off the upright after good work from Michael O’Sullivan. Keith Lacey notched his second score for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to give us back the lead again and then Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the next two points to take lead by a point and then Derry McCarthy scored another point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to bring sides back on level terms on again in a game that was nip and tuck throughout the opening half. Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the next two points to take the lead once again and then Thomas Fitzgerald scored a massive point from the sideline to leave a point between the sides. Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the next to lead by two points and then Keith Lacey added to his tally with his third score for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a point between the sides. Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the last point of the half to lead by two points at the break. To leave at half-time Croagh/ Kilfinny 0-10 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-8.
Croagh/ Kilfinny took advantage of the wind in the second half to score the next nine points of the game to lead by ten points and then Derry McCarthy scored the next two points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to lead eight points between the sides. Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the point to lead by nine points and then Derry McCarthy scored the two points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave seven points between the sides. Croagh/ Kilfinny scored the next point to lead by eight points and then Derry McCarthy scored another point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave seven points between the sides. Croagh/ Kilfinny scored their last point of the game of the game to lead by seven points and then Derry McCarthy scored the two points of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford as the substitute bench made a positive impact to help our cause to leave five points between the sides at end of the game. This was a one-sided game with Feenagh/ Kilmeedy been the much side on the day.
Feenagh/ Kilmeedy scored the first two points of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points both coming from Thomas Fitzgerald to bring sides back on level terms. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy scored the 1-3 of the game to lead by six points and then Thomas Fitzgerald scored another point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave five points between the sides. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy scored the next three points to leave eight points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming Thomas Fitzgerald and Gerard Noonan to leave six points between the sides. U13 hurling Notes
On Thursday night 24th of June our u13 hurlers played there first round of the championship. This game was most of the boys first time playing big pitch. It was a horrible night with rain, but it did not stop the boys to entertain us with some fabulous hurling against a strong Croom team. From goalkeeper to the forward line played the ball through the lines and picking off some beautiful scores. At the interval our boys were ahead on a scoreline of Dromcollogher / Broadford 1-6 to Croom’s 1-2. In to the second half our boys really worked hard chasing blocking at the end of all that they got some brilliant goals and pts. At the end of the 40 minutes of brilliant hurling Dromcollogher /Broadford came out on top on a scoreline of 4-10 to 2-5. Full praise to all the players for their discipline on the night. To Limerick Senior Footballers and especially our club player Cillian Fahy who scored 1-1 against Waterford, they defeated Waterford on a scoreline of 4-18 to 0-12.
