This was a great game of hurling, it was good our first win of the year, this game was played over in Hospital, on Monday night last, we led at break by 1-11 to 0-06 with our goal coming Micheál O’Kelly and then in second half we were outscored by Hospital/ Herbertstown by 3-7 to 1-7 with our goal coming Ciaran O’Callaghan and our scores on the night came from: Micheál O’Kelly (1-13, 5f), Ciaran O’Callaghan (1-2), Conor McGarry (0-2), Callum Curtin (0-1). The table after the first round reads as follows: Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2 points +2, Newcastle West 2 points +1, St. Kieran’s no points 0, Garryspillane no points -1, Hospital/ Herbertstown no points -2.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the two first points of the game with both scores coming from Micheál O’Kelly one from play and the other from a free and then two points came from Hospital/ Herbertstown one from play and the other from a free to leave the sides on level terms for the first time during the game. Micheal O’Kelly scored a goal after Stephen Pierce making the goal to give us back the lead with 6 minutes gone in the game and then Hospital/ Herbertstown scored a point to leave two points the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next five points with two points each coming from Ciaran O’Callaghan and Micheál O’Kelly and the other point came from Callum Curtin to give us a lead of seven points and then Hospital/ Herbertstown to leave six points between the scores. Micheál O’Kelly scored the next three points of the game to leave nine points between the sides with two frees and the other from play and then Hospital/ Hertbertstown scored another point to leave eight points between the sides. Micheál O’Kelly scored the next point of the game to leave nine points gone in the game and then Hospital/ Herbertstown scored the next point of the game just before the break to leave eight points between the sides at end of the half. Hospital/ Herbertstown scored the first two points of the second half to leave seven points between the sides and then Conor McGarry scored the next point to leave eight points. Hospital/ Herbertstown scored the next 1-2 of the game to leave three points between the sides and Micheál O’Kelly of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point to leave four points between the sides. Hospital/ Herbertstown scored the next point to leave three points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-1 of the game to leave seven points between the sides with goal coming from Ciaran O’Callaghan after a pass from Micheál O’Kelly and the point came from Conor McGarry his second of the game to leave seven points between the sides.
Hospital/ Hertbertstown scored the next 1-2 to leave three points between the sides and then Micheál O’Kelly scored the three points to leave six points between the game one score coming from free and the other two points from play. Hospital/ Herbertstown scored the last 1-1 of the game to leave two points between the sides at end of the game. The following are the results of the lotto draw that took place on the 29-06-26, and the numbers drawn were: 1, 4, 23, 28, There was no winner of the Jackpot at €3,300 and there was one winner at €100 and that was: Pat and Breda Noonan and the two lucky dips of €50 each were Bridget Downes and Bernie Madigan and the next draw will take on this coming Monday July 6th, and the Jackpot is going up to €3,400 and match three stayed at €100.
