Diarmaid Byrnes has been voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Limerick wing back earned 6,774 votes on the Official GAA Instagram page with Waterford’s Jamie Barron second and Dublin’s Eoghan O’Donnell third.

Diarmaid Byrnes drilled five long range points, including one from play, as Limerick defeated Dublin at Nowlan Park.

The Patrickswell clubman was also heavily involved with colleague Cian Lynch in the creation of Seamus Flanagan’s decisive goal.

Lively midfielder Jamie Barron was instrumental throughout Waterford’s Allianz Hurling League Semi-Final win over Galway.

The all action Barron contributed two fine points and was a key figure in the Deise triumph.

While Dublin were defeated by Limerick Eoghan O’Donnell delivered another gritty and wholehearted display.

O’Donnell is now established as an important player for Dublin, who summon another hearty performance under Mattie Kenny.
