Crecora/Manister GAA Club Notes:
Official Gym Opening:
On Sunday 20th September 2026, Crecora Manister GAA Club and Crecora Camogie Club were delighted to host the official opening of our new Players Gym Facility, located adjacent to the dressing rooms at Crecora Manister GAA Pitch.
Patrick O’Donovan, TD, Minister for Culture, Communications and Sports opened the new gym facility. Also present was local Niall Collins, TD, Minister of State, Dept of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine; and Richard O’Donoghue TD; Cllrs Stephen Keary, Bridie Collin’s, and John O’Donoghue from the Adare Rathkeale Municipal District. We were delighted to have Fr Harmon with us to bless the gym.
It was lovely occasion and a wonderful community day where Minister O’Donovan presented 11 of our club players with club awards recognising their success at All Ireland Level. Eight of our girls were recognised for being All Ireland Scór Sinsir Foirne Champions 2026. Cathal O’Neill, Sam Collins and Cian Hickey were also recognised for their All Ireland Hurling success.
A day like today would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of so many people.
A very special thank you to our committee: Pat Byrnes, Pat Quirke, David Delahunty, Tom O’Keeffe, Debbie Collins, Caitriona Hickey, John McCarthy and Gerry Moloney.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to our wonderful events team: Helen Keayes, Breda Murphy, Linda Kennedy, Caroline Hartnett, Caroline Holmes, Tara O’Doherty, Ellie O’Doherty, Margaret O’Mahoney and Ger Browne. This fantastic team of volunteers makes all our events possible, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, energy and commitment they give to our clubs.
Today was a true celebration of our players, our volunteers and our community.
