Bruff GAA Club Notes:

Lotto:
The jackpot was not won this week. The numbers drawn were 09,14,16, and 25. Congratulations to our lucky dip winners: €50 Conor Buckley, €20 Brian Finn Jnr, Isobel Hanley, Lisa Gray, Ev/Soph/Phil, Evelyn Hogan, Desmond Weekes, Mary Casey, Rafe Bulfin and Caroline Kelly, we appreciate everyone’s continued support. The next draw takes place on Thursday, August 20th, with a jackpot of €2,600.

Bingo:
Join us every Thursday evening at 8pm in the Bruff GAA Hall for Bingo. There are numerous prizes to be won each week, along with a raffle on the night. It’s always a great opportunity to catch up with friends, enjoy some fun, and maybe take home a prize or two. We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and newcomers for an evening of laughter and community spirit.

U11’s:
Our u11s were in Semple Stadium last week. Played three games v Carrigaline, Fethard and The Banner. Played some great hurling. Followed by a well-earned trip to Supermacs on way home. Well done all

U12’s:
Well done to our u12.5 team who won the Tess McNamara Cup yesterday at the Mullinahone National Hurling Festival. An early start saw the bus leave Bruff at 7:30am. After the parade through the town, the boys played Ballyhale Shamrocks (lost by a point, keeper made a brilliant last second save – they got a great photo with King Henry after, the goalie was his son!) Tommy Larkins (won by 3 points) and Kildalkey (won by 1 point). These results meant they came second to Ballyhale, meaning they played in the B semi-final against Ballinhassig which they won by 1-12 to 0-08. In the final they played Cappataggle, a team they lost to in last year’s final by a point. At halftime it was a draw 1-04 each, but it the second half the boys pulled away to win 2-08 to 1-06.
A fantastic day with superb hurling on display, with Bruff more than holding their own against top clubs in the country. Of course, they stopped in Supermacs on the way home to refuel and completed the long-established car beeping tour of the town to showcase the cup once back in Bruff. Congrats to a brilliant group, and their fantastic crew of coaches. Well done all, and thanks to Mullinahone for running a great event as always

U15 South Limerick:
Well done to Kevin, Jake & Cathal, who were in action with South Limerick over the weekend at the Meath Centre of Excellence. The lads recorded a great win over Kildare before narrowly losing out to Meath by just two points in the final.

Tony Forristal Tournament:
Congratulations to Conor & James who played on the Limerick U14 hurling teams in the Tony Forristal Tournament over the weekend. Limerick won the cup as they beat Waterford in the final. Also, to Paul Finn who was part of the academy coaching panel on Saturday. A fantastic achievement, well done everyone.

Mike Toomey Fundraiser:
90 years young and still putting his community first!
Mike Toomey of Camass will celebrate this special birthday by asking his many friends and colleagues to donate to his ‘Shave A Beard’ Event in Clarke’s Bar on Friday, August 21st. All proceeds will go to help fund Bruff Camogie Club, Bruff Bord na n-Óg & Bruff Senior GAA club. Mike was a member of the original Sportsfield Committee in the 1950’s and this was the beginning of so many decades of dedicated service to so many aspects of life in Bruff. Please support this event in honour of a man held in the highest esteem by young and old alike

Solar Panels:
Powering Bruff GAA into the future!
We’re delighted to see the installation of solar panels at our clubhouse, another important step in the continued upgrading and improvement of our club facilities.
The new solar system will help make the clubhouse more energy efficient, reduce our energy costs and lower our overall energy usage, delivering savings that can be reinvested back into the club and our facilities.
It’s another positive investment in the long-term future of Bruff GAA and follows the many improvements that have taken place around our grounds and clubhouse.
A huge thank you to Claire and everyone involved in making these ongoing developments possible.
