Santa visits Páirc na nGael
Pairc na nGael was full of excitement and festive cheers on Sunday last, when we welcomed Santa to meet the many families who had turned up to meet him. The event was organised by ‘Healthy Athea’ in partnership with Hayes Christmas Lights for Charity in aid of Milford Hospice Limerick, Children Ark Unit Limerick University Hospital and St. Gabriel’s School, Limerick.
There was great excitement when Santa arrived on his sleigh, to the sheer delight of the crowd. Santa was delighted with the surface of the new track, and informed us he has asked Rudolph to consider using the track as the Athea landing strip when he arrives on Christmas Eve!!
Thanks to permission secured from proprietor Paul Collins, a bucket collection took place outside Collin’s Shop on Saturday afternoon also in aid of the above named charities.
The events over the weekend raised the fantastic sum of €1231.14. Many thanks to Cormac Hayes from Hayes Christmas Lights, and everyone who helped out over the weekend.
