On behalf of everyone at Athea GAA, we wish to extend our deepest condolences on the tragic passing of Rory O’Connor. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. We also remember his friends, school friends and all those in our local community who knew and cared for him. Ladies:
Junior Championship Semi Final
On Sunday our adult team made the long journey to take on Pallasgreen at home. It was an even contest with Athea up 3 points at half time but we could not withstand the Pallasgreen second half comeback, with a point separating the teams at the final whistle. The girls can be very proud of the fight and character that was on show all year, especially last Sunday. They did not give up without a huge effort.
U14 Championship Final:
Huge well done to the U14 ladies of Athea / Glin U14s who defeated Monaleen in Mick Neville Park last Saturday. It was end-to-end action from two evenly matched sides. Huge well done to all the girls involved and their management team.
