U10 Hurling:
Great hurling blitz Friday evening in kileedy. Nearly all the players we had are under 10’s again next year which makes it all the more impressive.

U8 Hurling:
Our u8 hurlers played their final group blitz at home last Saturday morning against St Kieran’s and Newcastle West. It was brilliant to have 22 boys and girls divided up into three teams showcasing their skills that they are working on each week.

Ladies:

Huge well done to Aine Ahern who was part of the limerick PDP Team who played Waterford and Cork in Mallow on Saturday. Well done Aine.

Limerick Minor Ladies:
Huge Congratulations to Grace Hunt & Maeve Murphy who received their Munster Minor medals last night in The Woodlands.
Pictured here with team mentors Liz O’ Sullivan and David Murohy.
We are so proud of our Munster Champions and the time and dedication they put in for their club and country.

Ladies Junior Championship:
On Sunday morning our Ladies team were back in action at home where a win was essential to progress in this year’s championship. From the start they got a hold on the game with some excellent play through the lines. Inefficiency in front of goals made it a closer affair with the half time score reading 1.5 to 4 points to Athea.
The second half started like the first but once the first goal went in Athea found their rhythm.
Athea never took the foot off the pedal and with 3 minutes remain the resolute defence kept Mungret out with Sarah O’ Connor pulling off a remarkable save from the penalty.
This was a huge team effort – with the defence only allowing Mungret two points from play. Midfield worked tirelessly throughout with all forwards getting involved in each score.
Next game is on Sunday 13th September at 11 am V Ahane. venue to be confirmed.
Team: Sarah O’ Connor, Hazel Ahern, Sinead Hunt, Isabelle Barrett, Rebekah Daly, Lucy Ahern, Grace Hunt, Maeve Murphy, Rebecca Collins, Aoife O’ Connor, Stephanie Woulfe, Emma Scanlon, Molly Ahern, Noelle Curtain, Molly Hunt, Michelle Curtain, Shauna Collins, Ciara Hunt, Mary Ita Casey.
It has been a week of mixed emotions with the loss of joint captain Rachel Greaney on Monday night in a game V Croom. Rachel has been immense for the adult team this year a leader on and off the pitch and we wish her every success in her ACL surgery later this month.

U16 Girls:
Our U16’s took on Granagh/Ballingarry last Tuesdsy night in the Championship semi final. It was an entertaining contest with little between the two teams. It ended 6.4 to 5.4 in favour of Athea / Glin Emmets girls. There was a great display of determination and teamwork from everyone involved.
A special mention to all the girls who played their second game in two nights a number with the u14 Athea / Glin Emmets team and Shauna Collins and adult team — a serious effort and commitment well done.
