Billy Kirwin Memorial Tournament
Semi Final Result
ABK 1-08 St Senans 2-04
Cup Final Result After Extra Time
ABK 4-08 Shannon Gaels 4-07.
Well done to our magnificent under 12 footballers who won the Billy Kirwin Tournament in Foynes on Friday night after two epic battles against St Senans and Shannon Gaels with our boys coming out victorious by a single point in both games.
After a ferocious battle with our neighbours St Senans we held on a by a single point to set up a final encounter with Shannon Gaels. After an epic battle a last minute Shannon Gaels goal sent the final to extra time. Despite the disappointment of conceding this late goal our boys dusted themselves down and dominated extra time to eventually claim the cup by the slimmest of margins.
Captain Reon George lifted the Billy Kirwin Cup to a huge cheer from his teammates afterwards. Well done to all teams involved and thanks to St Senan’s Gaa for hosting such a well run tournament. Under 14 Football Championship Round 2:
ABK 4-06 St Senans 2-06
Our under 14 footballers made it two championship wins from two in sun drenched Ballysteen on Monday night after a ding dong battle versus neighbours St Senans.
Two first half goals from centre forward Danny Anglim and full forward Darragh Moran saw us enjoy a 5 point half time lead on a scoreline of 2-02 to 0-03.
St Senans came out fighting in the second half and buried an early goal and added a further point to close the gap to a solitary point. We responded with a well taken point from Gavin Anglim to stretch our lead.
St Senans laid siege to our goal after this with Luke Mungovan miraculously clearing a shot off the line followed by a stunning save from the ever reliable Oisin O’Connor.
With Jake Gallagher and Bradley Kelly dominant in the full back line we responded with a Danny Anglim goal to take control once again.
As St Senans pushed for an equalising goal the impressive Eoghan Kelly fed Danny Anglim who raced 60 metres to smash home his third goal of the night and put the result beyond doubt.
Overall another great display from our under 14s with some great performances all over the pitch. Well done to all involved.

Under 7 Hurling:
Powerful stuff from our U7s on Saturday in Athea. A lot of pride on the sidelines from both parents and coaches watching this gang put on a brilliant display of teamwork and effort in games versus Adare, Athea and St Kieran’s. Super work from everyone, very well done to all.
Under 9 Hurling:
Our under 9 hurlers played a blitz last Friday evening in Claughaun.
We played the hosts and Kildimo/Pallaskenry. We had 2 teams who played 2 games and they acquitted themselves very well. Keep up the hard work at training and practice at home.
As special thanks to all the parents for making the journey into Limerick on a busy Friday evening.
