Under 13 Hurling Divsion 4 Plate Final
ABK 7-11 Ahane 2-07
Our under 13 hurlers rounded off their year with a comprehensive victory over Ahane last Tuesday night in Kilbreedy. Having missed out on the Championship knockout stages on scoring difference our lads were in no mood to pass up on silverware with two comprehensive victories in our semi final versus Pallasgreen followed up by Tuesdays final versus Ahane.
We raced out of the traps and had 3 Oisin O’Connor goals on the board inside 10 minutes along with well taken points from Eoghan Kelly who finished the evening with 1-07 to his name. Kayden Delahunty, Josh O’Donoghue and Sean Anglim added further well taken points. Oisin went on to add two more green flags bringing his tally to an impressive 5 goals on the night.
At the back our goalkeeper Mark Barry along with his full back line of Conor Sheahan, Adam Barron and Paddy Nealon kept the Ahane full forward line under wraps while our half back line of Gavin Anglim, Luke Mungovan and Captain Donagh O Connor launched ball after ball in to our forwards. The hardworking Fitzgibbon twins Dale and Luke got through a mountain of work all evening while Cathal O’Donoghue did his job at corner forward.
It was great to see all eight substitutes used with Odhran Walsh hitting a beautiful point to crown a fine win. Well done to all involved on a solid campaign which saw us winning three of our four outings. Team and scorers Mark Barry, Adam Barron, Paddy Nealon, Conor Sheahan, Gavin Anglim, Donagh O’Connor, Luke Mungovan, Sean Anglim 0-01, Luke Fitzgibbon, Dale Fitzgibbon, Eoghan Kelly 1-07, Kayden Delahunty 0-01, Cathal O’Donoghue, Oisin O’Connor 5-00, Josh O’Donoghue 1-01.
