AHANE GAA CLUB NOTES
Ahane OsKaRs Update – Premiere this Saturday November 2nd
One week to go until the ‘Night at the OsKaRs’! Preparations are in full flow for the big night in the South Court Hotel at 8pm on November 2nd.
The last of the cast fundraisers took place this weekend with the cast of The Field holding their Spinathon in Castletroy Town Centre on Saturday, they would like to thank Clem in Castletroy Town Centre for the use of the venue, Ian in Studio One for the lend of the bikes, Tina Callinan from Massage Muscle Tactics and Nicola Meskell for doing the face painting, all who gave up their time to keep the bikes spinning and all who donated money to the cause.
We are looking forward see you all on Saturday for the premiere of the seven films! Show kicks off at 8pm.
Over 35’s Hurling
The second outing on Astroturf last Saturday again saw some new members take to the field for what was a thoroughly enjoyable game of hurling. Once again the numbers were great considering the Bank Holiday weekend that was in it, where we managed to field an 8-aside game on a pitch sized to suit. The game was played out and refereed over 3 x 15 minute periods in which there were some fine passages of play coupled with plenty of scores from both sides.
We will resume playing on Saturday next, 2nd of November in UL Astroturf (Maguire’s field) from 4-5pm. If you haven’t joined up yet and are keen on playing at some stage over the next few weeks, please keep an eye on our social media forums for updates and contact details to in order to get involved.
Dean Ryan Cup
Hard luck to Ahane player Evan O’Leary, manager Niall Moran and his Ardscoil Rís side as they narrowly lost out to St. Colman’s College, Fermoy in the Dean Ryan Cup Final in Kilmallock last week.
No doubt the experience gained playing at this high level by Evan will stand to him and indeed Ahane into future.
