Limerick’s Gaelic Grounds to get a facelift ahead of the Munster Championships in May

LIMERICK GAA have commissioned a survey to canvass the views of supporters on the selection of iconic images for the Gaelic Grounds facelift.

A short-term modern- isation and re-branding programme for the Gaelic Grounds is to include installation of new toilets, new shops and food offerings, upgrading of the VIP area and deep cleaning and painting of the Mackey Stand area – including the new graphics under the stand.

“It’s amazing, when we take time to reflect on our history in Limerick GAA, that there have been so many iconic moments, that mean so much to so many, in a sporting, family or community context. We are really looking forward now to capturing these moments and celebrating them with the appointed images at the Gaelic Grounds,” said Limerick GAA chairman John Cregan

“It was very important for us that the supporters and fans would have their say in this and thus the survey. If it got people talking about great moments from Limerick GAA around the city and county then all the better. Ultimately it’s about demonstrating that we have great pride and great tradition in our games and in our teams and that every Limerick supporter is engaged and is a part of that,” said Cregan.

The Gaelic Grounds works, complete with new imagery, is to be completed in time for the Munster Championships in May.

“We have appointed Limerick marketing agency The Pudding Brand to work with the Gaelic Grounds Committee on this project” said the chairman of initial survey responses.

The online survey on https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LIMGAA remains open until March 6 with all submissions included in a draw for Munster SHC final tickets and Limerick GAA jerseys.
