LIMERICK FOOTBALLERS LOSE OUT TO WICKLOW

Limerick fell to their first loss in this year’s lDivision 4, as they were well beaten by Wicklow at Aughrim in the Round 3 game on Sunday, on a score line of 2.09 to 1.06
In the end the home side had six potins to spare over Billy Lee’s side and it was Theo Smith’s late goal that finally settled this contest.

In a low scoring first-half Wicklow led 0-6 to 0-3 with Chris O’Brein and Smith on target, but after the restart it looked as if Limerick were on the road to victory when Seamus O’Carroll goaled for them midway though the second half, but O’Brien hit back with a lead goal for Wicklow and Smith secured victory.

Following the Round Three games over the weekend, Limerick now lie in joint second place with Wiclow, with Leitrim and Derry on top of the table unbeaten.Both Derry and Leitrim will travel to play Limerick in upcoming games
