U12s and U10’s Winter training program:

U12’s training in Freemount under lights will commence tonight, Wednesday 8th Feb for 4 weeks. To minimize the impact on parents, we’d encourage players to share transport. Plan is to meet in Raheenagh at 6:30pm each week and take it from there.

Help BNG with our Balance, and we’ll help you with yours:

As a fund raiser, Killeedy Bord na nOg are organising two separate fitness classes in the hall on Wednesday nights starting tonight, 8th February. There will be two sessions with women starting at 7.30pm and men at 8.45pm. It’s for six weeks, it’s for a good cause and you’ll be in good company.

The cost is €30 for 6 weeks and the proceeds going to help fund the BNG club for the year. Please support and text Mairead at 0868617429 to book your place.

Coaching foundation hurling course:

Interested in doing the foundation hurling course weekend after next, Fri 17th from 7-9.30pm and Sat 18th from 9.30-1pm. The classes are being held in Raheenagh. Please note that the foundation course is run over 2 dates, so participants must be available to attend over the two specified dates. Junior-B Munster and Leinster all-Ireland Finals:

It will be a busy day so we’d ask anyone wishing to give us a hand on the day in Raheenagh, please contact any one of the club officers. We would like to invite in particular those able to help with Stewarding, particularly in the carparking and to facilitate free-flow traffic on the approach roads. We’d also invite help for our Hospitality team with teas and coffee after the matches.

Become a Referee:

Limerick County GAA board will run a foundation course for new referees on Tuesday 31st January, Tuesday 7th February and Tuesday 21st February at 7:30pm each night at the Woodlands House Hotel Adare. For more information please contact Michael Meade at

GAA membership card & rewards programme launched:

The GAA has announced details of a new GAA membership card and rewards programme entitled grma or ‘go raibh maith agat’. This is a thank you to our members for their involvement in GAA clubs, engagement in GAA activities and attendance at games.

Members are being asked to sign up online via and will receive a new official GAA membership card personalised with their name, club and GAA membership number.

The grma rewards programme will also be available from January and will provide GAA Members with access to exclusive discounts, special offers and the opportunity to earn points for going to games. Points can be redeemed by individual members or pooled for redemption by GAA clubs.

Membership cards will only be distributed to members who have signed up to grma online. The programme is available to GAA members who are over 18. Membership cards are only issued to GAA club members who have renewed their subscriptions.

If you didn’t know already, John Nelligan will take the floor with Brid O’Rourke in Tournafullas’ Strictly Come Dancing on February 25th in the Devon Inn. John Nelligan is a great supporter of everything we do in Killeedy so let’s try encourage and support John in his efforts on the dance floor.

Trip to Croke Park:

Limerick GAA (Health &Well Being Committee) are organising a trip to Croke Park on the 15th February 2017 for senior citizens. It is not necessary to be involved in the GAA at present to qualify. The trip will cost €20 per person and include transport to Croke Park, Tour of Croke Park and Museum, Dinner in Croke Pk and tea break on the way to Croke Park. Enquiries to Gerry at 085 1901900.

SafeTALK workshop:

Workshop for self-harm awareness and suicide prevention and intervention. These training workshops are facilitated by the Suicide Resource Office CHO 3 (Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary).

Please note, to express interest in the Understanding Self-Harm or the ASIST workshop, you must complete an individual application form and return directly to or by post to Rose Kennedy, Office for Suicide Prevention, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mulgrave St., Limerick. When the application forms have been processed, Rose will then inform the applicant of training dates available for them to sign up for.
