Galbally GAA, Galbally Soccer and Galbally Tidy Towns will hold the official launch night of tHE 20K DROP this Thursday night at 8.30 in the Community Center Galbally. There will be local media in attendance and members of the public are invited along also to show your support. Galbally combined fundraiser, an inclusive community fundraising event.
The 20k Drop is a thrilling nationwide game show experience taking place all over the country and now you have the chance to take part! On Friday 7th April in Aherlow House Hotel Galbally combined fundraiser present the 20K drop. On the night 8 people will be selected from the audience to play the 20k drop game. If the players can answer 8 questions correctly they can win a max prize of €2,500. Just like the game show the prize money can be split over more than one answer if the contestant is unsure of the answer. It promises to be an entertaining night for all so be sure to get your tickets early from any Galbally GAA club member. Family tickets are available so bring along the whole gang and be in with a chance to win.
Annual Church Gate Collection:
The Galbally GAA Annual church gate collection will take place on the 18th and 19th of March in Galbally your support is greatly appreciated.
Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stakes:
The Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stakes is back at Limerick Greyhound stadium starting Saturday 11th March and running every Saturday night up to the final on the 8th of April. Galbally previously had great luck in this steak, when their allocated dog won 10,000 for the club in 2014. We will be hoping for the same luck again this year. There is great fun to be had on these nights and we hope you will turn out and support the event, anyone wearing their club colors will get 50% off their admission fee and children under 16 go free. Rackethall Jess, the greyhound allocated to Galbally GAA came first in her heat last Saturday and is out in Heat 1 this Saturday night. This week we will have some local rivalry with Rackethall Jess pitted against Chawke It Down who is the Ballylanders dog.
Club Limerick Draw:
In 2016 we enjoyed a very successful year securing 2 first prize winners – €10,000. each. Katleen & Orla Hickey in May, while Ruth and Aoife Kiely won 1st prize in June. We also had winners in Bill Cussen, €500, Galbally GAA club and Keiran O Connell who won €250 each. In total over the past 9 years, €79,700 was won by Galbally members of Club Limerick draw as well as weekends away and All Ireland tickets, a great achievement for a small club. We appeal for your continued support of the draw in 2017, 10 draws at €10 euro per draw or €100 euro for the year. In supporting this draw you are supporting Galbally GAA club. Congratulations to John the Baptist School in their All Ireland hurling semi final victory last Saturday. They now face St Mary’s CBGS, Belfast in the All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Paddy Buggy Cup (Under 18.5 B Hurling) final on Saturday March 25th in Semple Stadium Thurles.
Galbally Intermediate footballers get their season under way then they welcome Mountcollins to Galbally on Saturday 18th of March at 3pm, come out and show your support for the lads on Saturday.
