The Limerick finals of Scór na nÓg were held in the Millenium Theatre, Limerick Institute of Technology, on Friday evening last, 3ú Nollag 2014. These were the first finals in Limerick City for over 20 years and was part of Limerick G.A.A.’s commitment to the city’s year as City of Culture. It turned out to be an outstanding success, with participation from 15 Limerick clubs and keen competition throughout. Bean an Tí for the evening was Úna Ní Riain , ó Phailís na Gréine, no stranger to Scór, and she kept the proceedings moving along at a lively pace. The evening was sponsored by Carambola Ltd, the Annacotty based suppliers of school meals to schools in Limerick City and nationwide. Representing Carambola was Ms Rachel Mescall, while also on hand to present the prizes to the winners was chairman of Limerick G.A.A., Oliver Mann from the Patrickswell club. The Ballybrown club hosted the Tábla na gCeist Scór finals on Wed. 3ú Nollag. Bhí aon chlub déag i láthair.
Crecora G.A.A. came out on top at the end, with an excellent score of 74 out of a possible 80 answers. Crecora will now represent Limerick in the All Ireland finals of this competition in the New Year.
