Cllr. Michael Sheahan, Mayor of the Metropolitan District of Limerick has invited Comhaltas groups from all over LimerickCity and County, World Champion Dancer Niamh O’Brien and the Pat O’Dea set dancersas well as students of Tradtime – the Comhaltas Schools Outreach programmeto showcase their work in traditionalmusic and dance in Limerick’s iconic Milk Market on Sunday, February 15th. Comhaltas branches from Ahane/Castleconnell/Herbertstown,Ardagh, Castletroy, Garryowen Manistir will be joined by Fear a’ Tí, Micheál Ó Ríain.
The event will have the atmosphere of a fair with market cafés being open for food and drinks and seating available for everyone. The Mayor specifically wants to celebrate the achievements of our many artists who work on a voluntary basis to preserve our traditional cultural heritage:
