County Senior Football Championship:

Fr. Caseys senior footballer’s start their county championship campaign this coming Thursday evening with a very tough encounter against newly promoted Adare. Buoyed by winning the Intermediate championship last season and also capturing the U21 County title in 2015, this young and energetic Adare team will be out to impress and Fr. Caseys will need to hit the ground running if they are to emerge victorious. In an extremely tough group which also includes last year’s county finalists Monaleen and Drom/Broadford as well as Rathkeale and Na Piarsaigh, points will be at a premium and come August a kick of a ball will likely separate the quarter finalists from the relegation candidates. Fr. Caseys are this year managed by Gerard O’Connor with Maurice Sheehan and James Collins on board as his trusty selectors. The team is captained by Sean Harnett and will be looking at current county stars David Ward and Daniel Daly to set the standard for the rest to follow. It will take a massive effort for 60 minutes to topple this highly rated Adare team but with Monaleen awaiting in round 2, Fr. Caseys know they need to dig deep on Thursday or face a very long year of uncertainty. We wish all involved the very best of luck and hope that a large crowd can make the short trip to Newcastle West to cheer on the team. The throw in time is 7pm.

Limerick Minor Footballers:

Well done to the Limerick minor footballers who defeated Waterford by 1-10 to 0-09 last Wednesday April 12th in the Gaelic Grounds and now progress to the Munster semi-final on May 5th. Rory O’Brien of Fr. Caseys contributing 0-02 on the night.
