U21 Hurling:

All roads lead to Quiad Park Colyrue for the U21 West B hurling championship final against the winners of Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale and Templeglantine on this Coming Sunday March 19th in Quiad Park Colyrue at 3pm. Please support our U21 hurlers. On the way to the final in round 1 we defeated St. Kieran’s on a scoreline of 2-18 to 0-03 in round 2 we defeated Templeglantine on a scoreline of 2-19 to 3-14 and then in the third and final round we drew with Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-14 to qualify for West B hurling championship final for the third year in a row against the winners of Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale and Templeglantine on this coming Sunday Mach 19th in Quaid Park (Colyrue) at 3pm. West Senior Football Championship Quarter Final:

Dromcollogher/Broadford 2-14 St. Senan’s 1-12

This was a very tight game played down in Ballyhahill on Saturday last, with two goals for Dromcollogher/Broadford coming from Derry McCarthy and Michael O’Sullivan both coming in the second half of the game and in the Semi-Final, we will play Ballysteen, more details later. St. Senan’s scored the first two points of the game one a free and the other from play and then Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next the five points with two coming Paul Madigan both from frees, John O’Gorman both from play and the other point coming from Kevin Noonan to lead by three points. St. Senan’s scored the next three points to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game and then Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next point coming from John O’Gorman to put back into the lead once again and then St. Senan’s scored the next three points to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game. Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the last point of the half coming from Derry McCarthy to give us the lead once again by a point. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/Broadford 0-8 to St. Senan’s 0-7. St. Senan’s scored the first point of the second half to bring sides back on level terms once again for the fourth time during the game and John O’Gorman scored the next point to Dromcollogher/Broadford put back into the lead once again.  St. Senan’s scored the next point of the game to bring sides back on level for the fifth and final time during the game and then Dromcollogher/Broadford scored the next 2-3 with goals coming from Derry McCarthy and Michael O’Sullivan with two of these points coming from Derry McCarthy and the other point coming from Paul Madigan to lead by nine points and then St. Senan’s scored their first goal of the game to leave six points between the sides.  Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/Broadford and then Dromcollogher/Broadford and then St. Senan’s scored the next point of the game.  Patrick Donnelly scored the next point for Dromcollogher/Broadford to lead by seven points and then St. Senan’s scored the next last two points of the game to give us victory by five points and put into the Semi-Final against Ballysteen, more details later. Used subs and scorer for Dromcollogher/Broadford were John Lynch for Jason Stokes, Keith Lacey (0-1) for John O’Gorman and Séan Murray for Brian Noonan and the other sub for Dromcollogher/Broadford was James Noonan. Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw:

Dromcollogher/ Broadford    1-09Results of the 240th draw took place on Monday March 13th in Nunan’s Bar Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were 1, 9, 12 and 25. There was no winner of the jackpot of €7,900 and there were four winners of match three at €100 and they each got €25 and they were: Bertie O’Sullivan Dromcollogher, Mike Madigan Dromcollogher, Noel Morrissey Dromcollogher and John Browne Newcastle West and the two lucky dips of €50 each were Nora Morrissey Dromcollogher and Eamonn O’Brien Broadford and the next draw will took place on last Monday night March 20th in Neenan’s Bar Broadford at 10.15pm sharp the jackpot going up to €8,000 (Win or share) and the match three staying at €100 (win or share).  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

REGISTRATION 2017 for Coiste na nOg:

After a very successful 2016 season in the club we are delighted to announce that registration for the 2017 season is going to take place on Wednesday the 15th of March in the clubhouse in Dromcollogher. We are hoping to set up an U6 Academy this year which will focus on introducing children to Gaelic games in a fun and entertaining way. In order for the academy to get up and running we will need parents to get involved. GAA experience is not a requirement and there will be training, coaching etc. provided for all those who will get involved with any team in any aspect of the club. The registration times on the 15th of March will be as follows U6/8/10s – 6:30pm and U12/14/16s – 7:30pm.

Please take note that one parent/guardian from each family must attend the registration evening for a child to be registered. We are having a guest speaker on the evening which who will speak about nutrition, health and fitness and other interesting topics which will be applicable to both children and parents. We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.
