Staker Wallace GAA Club Notes

Lots of activity this week at the pitches in Kilbreedy. The local schools are making the most of the continued good weather and our great facilities to host their annual Gaelic Football blitzes.

Commiserations to Martinstown National School’s boy’s team who lost out on a place in the Finals following their divisional blitz on Wednesday last. However they have a young side and some great talent coming through, so looking good for the future. Great effort boys.

But Congratulations to Bulgaden National School, who again built on their reputation as a sporting school, to win all three matches in their blitz on Thursday and so they will head into the Finals day in a couple of weeks time. Remarkably, their team consists of 2 boys in 6th class, 1 in 4th Class and 4 of the team from 3rd Class, so a very young squad. Well Done boys! Mention must also be made for all their hard work to Ms. Hyland, their teacher and to Paddy Mooney their coach.

Donnie Hanson drew the 4 of Spades, so no Jackpot Winner this week….
Lucky dip draws followed for Mary Kate Herbert, Bobbie and Noreen Martin, Nanie Maguire and Cal O’Connell..
Next week’s Jackpot will be €1,900 and the draw will take place next Monday(15th Oct) as usual…
Thanks to all who took part….

Our Cois Laoi Gaels Minor Team had a great win last weekend. They overcame Southside Gaels in a very confident performance to bring home the Minor B Hurling Championship Cup. Final result was Cois Laoi Gaels 5-17 Southside Gaels 2-16. Well done lads a great result, and a true reward for your hard work all season.

Another win too for our underage club, this time for Cois Laoi Gaels U14’s in the County Football Semi Final
With a 3.03 to 2.02 win over Claughan…
Well done lads…

Our Bord na n Og organised a family day out to Croke Park last Saturday, around 50 adults and children travelled to Dublin, and enjoyed the tour of the stadium and the museum, with lunch after. The weather was perfect too, and a fantastic day was had by all.. With thanks to Antoinette, Winnie and helpers, who made a great effort to ensure everyone had a fun day out…
