Staker Wallace GAA Club Notes

This week’s ‘Ace of Hearts’ Lotto Draw took place on Monday evening in Bulgaden Castle as usual.

Landlord Conal Kelly Snr, was handily placed to pull out the winning ticket, but the ‘Ace of Hearts’ eluded him, and out came the Queen of Spades… and so the Jackpot survives again, and next week will be €2,400… Lucky dips were then drawn out in favour of Libby Maguire, Patsy Collins, John Bourke and Shay McCarthy … thanks as always to all who contributed..

Of course the weather is fabulous, and so it must be exam time again… On behalf of Staker Wallace GAA, “Best Wishes” to all the students of the Parish who over the coming days will sit their Leaving and Junior Cert exams. It’s a tense time, but it will soon be over, relax and do your best it’s all anyone can expect.

Our U6’s came out in droves for an exciting challenge match in Glenroe, on Bank Holiday Monday last. Playing their first match, they showed that training is certainly paying off, and we have talent coming through in the club for years to come! As the youngsters gave it their all, to the delight of a large crowd of supporters…it is heartwarming as a club to see so many start off playing our great Gaelic Games.. Well Done to all!

Well done to our U14’s Cois Laoi Gaels team, who last Wednesday night had a great win over Ahane, away in the first round of their championship. In testing heat we played a game of skill and determination to come away the winners with a score of 3.09 to 0.02…. your doing great lads, keep it coming…

After a thrilling match against Cork last weekend, fans still have two more exciting games to come, as Limerick take on Waterford this weekend, and Clare the following Sunday. Good Luck to players and Management from all at Staker Wallace GAA, let’s hope we’re all heading to the Munster Final on the 1st July.

Martinstown are celebrating all this coming weekend, with a catalogue of events, Full details on our Facebook Page.. please turn out and make it a special weekend in the history of the Parish..
