U-21 FOOTBALL: Our U-21 footballers continued their excellent start to the County U21 Premier football championship when beating Oola 3-7 to 0-10 in the third round of the championship last weekend. Well done to the players and management team. We are due to face Ballysteen in Round 4 of the competition on this Saturday, November 17 in Adare at 2pm. Best of luck to the players and coaches. All support greatly appreciated.

LOTTO: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €20,000. The draw took place on Thursday, November 8. The numbers drawn were 1, 10, 26 and 33. Winners of €50 lucky dips were K. Murphy, Monaleen Road; K/L Brown, Monaleen Park; D. Power, Fairways; N. Barron, Bloomfield. Our jackpot remains at its maximum allowed limit of €20,000 and will remain at this level until some lucky winner carries off the Big prize. Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs and the draw is held every Thursday night in the club at 10pm.

AGM: The club’s AGM will take place on Wednesday, December 5.

TABLE QUIZ: A special table quiz to help raise funds for the Hope Foundation’s work in India will take place in Monaleen GAA Clubhouse on Friday November 23 at 8:00. Quizmaster is Michael Sheahan. Organisers of the event include two of the club’s U-16 players, Donnacha O’Dalaigh and Harry Doyle.

SARSFIELD CUP: Well done to the Monaleen GAA players, Cathal Downes, Cian Scully, Eoghan Maher, David Brennan, Alex Lautsou, Jack Lavelle and Matthew Fitzgerald who played for the City sides in the schools Football Sarsfield Cup semi-finals on Tuesday. The team lost out narrowly to the South divisional team in the semi-final

 

CONGRATS: Congratulations to the Monaleen NS players and coaches who won the U13 county football primary schools title in Rathkeale last week. Monaleen edged past local rivals Lisnagry is a hugely exciting semi-final before overcoming Bruree in the final. It was great to see all 28 players on the panel getting gametime.

Camogie

AGM: Following on from the recent Monaleen Camogie Club AGM the following officers were appointed, Chairperson James Johnson; Vice Chairperson Paul Doyle; Secretary John Doyle; Treasurer Andrew Fallon and Fiona O’Halloran; Registrar Mary Mcinerney, PRO Mary O’Leary; Child Welfare Nicola Twomey, Coach Development Brian Madden, Club/Player Wellbeing Nicola Donoghue.

MINOR: The Monaleen Minor camogie team play their County A Plate Final against Kilmallock/Bruff, this Saturday November 17 at 2pm in Crecora. Best of luck to the players and supporters. All support welcome.
