Lotto:

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €20,000 following the last draw on Thursday, August 3. The numbers drawn were 8, 11, 15 and 34. Winners of the lucky dips winners of €50 were T Dolan Beechwood: D/M McCarthy Commons Rd, T Kerin Monaleen Rd and K Collins, Golflinks Rd. Our jackpot has now reached its maximum allowed limit of €20,000 and will remain at this level until some lucky winner carries off the Big prize. Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs and the draw is held every Thursday night in the club at 10pm.

Cards:

The 45 drive takes place every Thursday at 9pm.

Buy A Brick:

Monaleen gaa club are offering supporters a chance to have their name engraved on a block in the wall in our new development- a permanent inscription at a cost of €100 per block on a wall inside the gate. Car Wash Fundraiser:

Monaleen Community Games U10 football and U11 hurling teams will represent Munster in the National finals in Abbottistown, Dublin on Saturday. August 19th. We will be holding a fundraising car wash in Monaleen NS on Saturday next, August 12th from 1pm to 4pm. Please come and support our Munster champions trip to the finals.

Senior Football:

The senior football team played out an exciting 1-13 each draw with Adare in the county championship on Friday night last. Monaleen’s final group fixture in the championship will be against Dromcollogher/Broadford in Bruff on Sunday, August 20 at 7pm.

Minor Hurling:

The minor hurlers defeated Ballybrown 4-13 to 2-10 in the city Minor hurling championship in Clarina.

The senior hurlers will face Adare in their final group match in the county championship on Saturday, August 26 in Clarina at 6.45pm.

Monaleen face Rathkeale in the premier minor football championship in The Bog Garden on Tuesday, August 8 at 7pm

Junior Hurling:

The Junior A hurling side face Ballybrown in Rathbane in the city championship on Saturday night in Rathbane, 7pm

Summer Camp:

The Monaleen GAA summer camp will run this year from Monday 21st August to Friday 25th August for 6 year olds to 12 year olds. Camp starts at 10am to 2pm daily and cost per child is €50 (first child) €40 (second sibling) €30 (third sibling). The U14 hurlers will meet Newcastle West in Newcastle West on Wednesday, August 16th at 7pm

Monaleen GAA Tennis Club Notes:

Membership renewals have been completed. A list of paid up members is on the notice board. Only paid up members are insured and eligible to use the courts.

Tuesday American tennis tournament returns for all levels of player from 16th May following the club competitions. It’s a mixed doubles tournament with teams arranged from 7pm.

Courts can be booked on the sheets at the noticeboard on the bottom court. Tokens can be purchased in the bar [1 token is €3 and lasts for 45 minutes]. Tennis balls and club gear can be purchased from Declan at 087-6823289. Coaching is available for all levels of player. Please contact Jennifer Colford at 085-7104935.

There are bins located outside the courts. Please ensure that you remove any rubbish from the courts when your game is finished.

Clubhuse Activities:

Having a Party? The clubhouse is available to hire for private parties – 21st, 30th, 40th, Christenings/Communions, etc. Talk to Tony Power or Caroline O’Kane. Monaleen GAA welcomes slimming world to the clubhouse each Tuesday. Class times are as follows 9.30. 11.30. 3.30, 5.30 and 7.30. Everyone is welcome.
