U12 Notes

All roads led to Mick Neville Park (Rathkeale) last Friday evening for the U12 Hurling Finals. We played Cappamore in the Semi-final and this was a great battle between two very evenly matched sides. There was only a point separating both teams at half-time. The second half was similar to the first with the game going down to the wire with our defence of Diarmuid Reidy, Ollie Brudair, Aaron Leahy, Adam White, Conor O’Brien and Shane Geary playing outstanding which allowed us to hold on to win by 3 points. In the final we played Killmallock. Killmallock got off to a good start and scored first and looked dangerous up front but we eventually settled in the game and went in 3 points up at half time. It was more of the same in the second half with excellent skills on show from both sides. Good performances from Adam O Brien, Anthony Sheehan, Adam O’Kelly, Alex O’ Dell, and Gavin Farrell as well as Goals from Robert Jefferies and Ben Croke and points from Robbie Lynch, Naoise O Connor, Gerard O’ Callaghan and Ronan O’ Sullivan meant we held on to win by a scoreline of 3-07 to 2-02. It was a fantastic performance by all the panel involved. Panel on the night were as follows. D. Reidy, O. Brudair, A. Leahy, A. White, C O’Brien, S. Geary, R. Lynch, N. O’Connor, R. O’Sullivan, G. O’Callaghan, A. Sheehan B. Croke, A. O’Brien, A. O’ Dell, G O’Callaghan, A Sheehan B Croke, A O’Brien, A O’ Dell, G Farrell, R Jefferies and A O’ Kelly.
