Strictly Croom Dancing#2:
Croom is heating up this week and excitement is building around the town as the GAA Strictly Croom Dancing event draws closer on Saturday 23rd November at the South Court Hotel. RTE’s Marty Morrissey will be the host of events on the night and will bring his fun factor and interactive audience to the show. The 11 couples are nearing the end of their hard weeks of practice and are geared up and ready to give a huge performance on the night. The judging panel will consist of Nora Kennedy, incorporating her home grown talent into her ratings; Bernard Carroll who is Croom’s local Strictly Come Dancing expert having been a part of so many of these events before; and former Limerick hurler and gas man Donie Ryan, who the dancers are sure to get the full brunt of his views.The event will see a layout change in the South Court for this event in the form of a raised stage and a new lighting spectacle so that the packed audience will have full visibility of the performers .
There will be no green room at this years event to ensure we have a free flowing, fun night , with a disco following the event at approximately 11pm til late. The funds raised for this event will see the final phase of the club’s Development Plan to complete the exterior grounds of the club i.e. floodlights, fencing, gates etc.. A portion of the funds will also be donated to Croom National School to fund any development requirements needed. Tickets can be bought @ €20 from any participating dancer many of whom are working in the local business’s in Croom and the national school.This is a ticket only event as there are capacity restrictions in the South Court Hotel so get your tickets on time to avoid disappointment.
Minor A Football County Champions!
CHAMPIONS!!!!!
Croom are the Minor A Football county champions after an incredible win over Adare in Mick Neville last week. Conditions were perfect as was the pitch. There was a huge crowd from Croom there to cheer on the team which has completed an unbeaten season. Adare were a bigger team physically and had older players around the field so it was a credit to our players for such heart, work rate, commitment and fantastic attitude 2nite. We had to fight all the way to the final whistle and it was an excellent second half scoring performance and hard dedicated defence that won the night for us. Final score Croom 0.13 : 1.06 Adare. Every player, the management and backroom aswell as the supporters were overjoyed when the whistle went. You could see how much it meant. Everyone is a credit to their families, club, and community. We are all so proud of you all. Well done and enjoy the celebrations. Comisserations to Adare but they were gallant right through and we had to be at our absolute best to beat them. Heres to a bright future for these young players. We look forward to following you all in the coming years. As our famous battle cry goes Cromadh Abú!
Munster Club Junior A Football:This Saturday Croom play Ballyduff Lower of Waterford in the Munster club Junior A Football championship at 1.30pm in Bruff. It was not to be for us in the county final but the club represents Limerick in Munster so we are hoping to give it a right rattle and improve on how we played the last day. Please come along and support the team.
