Club Limerick (Dublin) Notes

The Countdown to Sunday 19 August and the All-Ireland Senior Hurling final with Galway has begun – the first time two teams from Div 1B of the National League will contest the decider.

Limerick fans heading for Dublin on the eve of the final might like to take in the Limerick Up for the Match Special in Searson’s Bar (Charlie Chawke) in Baggot Street from 20.00. Special guests Damien Quigley scorer of 2-3 in the All-Ireland final of 1994; Eamonn Rea member of the 1973 All-Ireland winning team and Sean Cronin, former Limerick footballer and current Ireland international rugby player. A fundraising raffle and auction in aid of the Senior Hurling Panel Fund will be held on the night.

The garment to wear for the All-Ireland final is the new Club Limerick Dublin polo shirt. A small quantity remains in stock. Contact Tom Cotter at 086 838 0893. Many thanks to Charlie Chawke and Tom Moran – Moran Red Cow Hotel for the sponsorship.

Hard luck to the Limerick Premier Junior Camogie on their exit from the championship.

Sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Mickey Brennan of the Square, Thurles. Brennan’s Bar has been a port of call for Limerick fans attending games in Semple Stadium for some years and were always treated to a warm welcome by Mickey and his family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.

Club Limerick Dublin extends its best wishes to the Naomh Jude club in Templeogue who are hosting the All Ireland  Junior 7s competition on 18th Aug.  It’s a great tournament and ideal for any Limerick club interested in making a great All-Ireland weekend.  Contact Club Limerick (Dublin) committee member, John O’Kelly (m) 087 2734783; (e)
